We could tell from the reviews that this condo was dated. But, we didn’t expect it to have so many issues. Some suggestions to make for a pleasant place to stay:
Floor: floor needs to be deep cleaned and grout re-sealed. Our feet were black with the first couple of hours of our stay. We mopped.. twice. This helped, but the grout is black and not by design. It’s light colored in unused areas.
Shower: The shower ceiling has paint peeling. This isn’t small peels. It didn’t make for a great vacation morning to pick white specks out of my hair.
The shower also needs to be deep-cleaned. My husband was mid-shower with my three year old when he noticed the whole shower head was covered with black mold. This was not a tiny bit of mold. It was absolutely coated. This is a health hazard that can be avoided with a simple dip in bleach once a week/every other week. I live in a high humidity area as well, and this works. Simply scrubbing does as well, which would be beneficial for the whole bathroom which showed a lot of dirt and mold.
Vents & A/C filter: Every single vent was coated with dust, dirt, and mold. In a humid environment, it is paramount to clean these these regularly. I suggest unscrewing the vents and giving them a good scrub with bleach in a sink.
This one is simple, the A/C filter. The closet doors for the A/C vent were coated in dust and dirt. The filter was dated, great idea. But, not so great if the filter is 6 months old. It was dated January. This is July. It was coated in inches of dust and dirt. This wasn’t noticed until the last day of our stay, when I bumped into the door and got dust on my shirt. Simple solution would be to make sure maintenance is performing this task or check-in on the property personally. My 3-year old and I were both sneezing and coughing the entire stay. I had to give my child Zyrtec. This is a health issue. Respiratory issues can be serious.
Furniture: The furniture is aged, dirty, and smelly. I live in a humid environment and with a three year old and husband. Simply vacuuming and light scrubs do wonders. But, the furniture may be too far gone for that. The bed is hard. Very, very hard and uncomfortable. The couch cushions sink to the fold-out bed frame. Patio chairs were even moldy. I suggest soapy water/scrub.
Overall, very disappointed. A vacation should be a time to relax in comfort. This condo didn’t offer that.
