The hosts were very nice and communicative. We appreciated the welcome beverages they left for us and the greeting written on the chalkboard by the front door. The space was small but good for a couple. We liked how it was nestled in the charming backyard of the main house. The location was good—close to main thoroughfares and the 101 freeway.

Great location, safe, clean and so cute! Private pool, propane grill and outside seating. Couch pulled out to full size bed and 1 bedroom with full size bed. Fireplace(didn’t use) everything you need to cook,Keurig single coffee maker and full size fridge,gas stove and all the dishes etc provided. Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods close to get supplies/groceries ….had a great stay!

Perfect for us

Everything you could ask for. Summer cottage with a private pool, great location and attentive friendly hosts. We stay here almost every year for our annual visit with our daughter and son in law.

We had a great stay in this fabulously located quaint wee cottage, very well equipped, with a spectacular pool and garden. Our host Michael was great, always there if needed but respectful of our privacy. I would thoroughly recommend this quiet and peaceful retreat

Great place plus great pool

Overall a very nice place to stay when in LA. Michael, the host, was very accommodating and helpful. If we are in the area again, we wouldn't hesitate staying at "The Contemporary Cottage" again.

Perfect SoCal Weekend Location

My son and I loved our stay. It was perfectly located to easily get to all the hot spots in LA. The pool was perfect for a quick refreshing dip between activities. Michael was so nice and even had a cold beverage for each of us upon our arrival!

College Tours

My son and I made this home base while we toured several schools in the LA area. Michael was very kind and gave us a tour of the cottage. The space was just fine for the 2 of us. I was able to make a few dinners in the little kitchen so we could relax in the evening after long days. The backyard is beautiful and I was sad the weather did not cooperate for me to sit outside and enjoy it. Parking was very easy on the neighborhood street. I would happily return to this property with 2 or 3 people.

Only good things to say!

All was great and no surprises - was exactly like the listing. They did the little things very well that you really don't see in short-term rentals: plenty of towels, access to a washer/dryer with detergent, extra blankets and pillows, toaster OVEN, and even a bar of soap (which I had forgotten!). The location was perfect for us as well. We will definitely plan to return!

Lovely Cottage in Fabulous Neighborhood

Michael and Laura's cottage is so amazing. It's exactly as pictured and the pool is fantasticly relaxing. I highly recommend sraying at the cottage.

Quiet and Cozy Retreat

The cottage was a perfect place for my husband and I to come home to every night after spending time with our family nearby. It was also wonderful waking up there and having a quiet breakfast while enjoying the beautiful scene just outside our door. It had everything we needed.

We really enjoyed our stay, the hosts were fabulous , cottage was clean & great access.

FANSTASTIC...very private and well maintained. The hosts respected our privacy while always being available for any questions or suggestions. The cottage had great access to so many great places in LA that made this beautiful cottage a wonderful get away.

Hello! We are Laura and Michael Palazzolo.
We were both born and raised in Los Angeles, but we have been fortunate to have traveled all over the world, and we look forward to hosting travelers from near and far.

We met working at Universal Studios Tour may years ago, and we still live only a few minutes away from one of the most popular tourist attractions in Los Angeles.

Laura knows a lot about homes as a director for many shows on HGTV (Home and Garden Television) - She is currently working on the network's #1 show 'House Hunters' and travels all over the country on a regular basis.

Michael also used to work in Television production, and he is now devoting his time and attention to being an excellent vacation rental host.

Our favorite American city besides Los Angeles is Chicago, IL and our favorite vacation destination is Hawaii. Michael's heritage is Italian, and Italy is our very favorite country to visit!

And a song that that makes us happy is what else: 'HAPPY' by Pharell Williams! And that is how we want you to feel when you check in and check out of our 'Contemporary Cottage'!

この宿泊施設のオーナーになった理由

This cozy cottage is tucked away in the back of a historic property built in 1936, and has some Hollywood history attached to it. The original owners were famous movie stars named Joan Blondell and Dick Powell. At the height of their career, they bought this Sherman Oaks ranch as a 'country home' that originally included horse stables and a chicken coup. This special home has had only four owners in over 70 years. The current owners are the Palazzolo Family who have happily lived here for more then 20 years.
