A Week in Paradise

We absolutely loved staying in Slice of Paradise. We had 9 family members ranging from grandparents to an infant and this rental was perfect for us. Melissa is extremely quick to respond and also gives great advice on questions about Roatan. We will most definitely stay here the next time we visit.Some things to note about Roatan. We found that while credit cards are accepted by restaurants, they frequently add at least 18% for “tax”. The restaurants where we had dinner also accepted PayPal. This tax add on will also happen with dive operators and adventure centers. Bring lots of cash. We took Melissa’s advice and picked up our groceries on the way to the house. This is a must if you want anything but basic goods. The grocery stores in West End are more like convenience stores. Things like sandwich meat could not be found but alcohol is readily available.I can honestly say this was one of our best vacations and we will definitely come back to Roatan and to Slice of Paradise!

Great Stay

The property was great. The building was spacious and had everything we needed. We didn't run into any issues. Melissa (management) was helpful and always at the ready when we needed anything. She coordinated our pickup and drop off at the airport that included a trip to the grocery store to stock up. You will need to stock up on food because there are no stores within a 15 minute walking distance. Loly and Libby, who were there for our transportation needs were great. We scheduled a home cook meal by Dixie via Melissa and it was fanatic. I highlight recommend others to do the same. Dixie was a delight and her cooking was exceptional. Our favorite part of the property was the shared dock. It worked both as a great spot to catch a water taxi to go to West End and West Bay or to relax and watch the sun go down. The beach on the property has lots to see if you like snorkeling. We saw lobster, sea urchins, fish, conch and a barracuda. There are a few restaurants within walking distance from the property; the Boat Bar was a frequent dinner spot for us.

Slice of paradise

This property was exactly as described. Melissa was an amazing host - even talking us through getting to the house when we got lost and walking us through everything once we arrived. I’d absolutely recommend a stay here.

Great family house close to the beach!

We had a great stay at slice of paradise. Very roomy house with two separate living rooms. Lots of space for everyone to spread out. Luna Mona was our favorite restaurant and it’s a ten minute walk down the beach. We snorkeled right off the dock and saw lots of fish. We took a boat taxi to West bay to snorkel and West end for lunch/dinner. You can walk to west bay where there is a little grocery store and many restaurants. Grounds keeper was very nice and brought us fresh fruit. The beds were firm and the house is well equipped to cook anything. We went on two snorkeling tours and Clearwater was the best. Nice boats and great crew for beginners or more advanced. Their dock is a 5 min walk down the beach.

Beautiful property and Island, we can't wait to return!

The pictures online did not do the house justice; it was actually more beautiful in person. It was very nicely decorated and furnished, providing everything we needed for daily living. The beds were comfortable, everything was clean and tidy, and the air conditioning worked well. The pool and deck were the perfect places to relax. The beach is a short two-minute walk down a hill. It’s small but very private. The only people you’ll see are other guests staying in the Orchid Beach community or the occasional passerby. We spent most of our time on the covered dock, though. There was great snorkeling right off the dock. West End and West Bay are a short water taxi ride away. For us, it was too far to walk to either West End or West Bay, but for some, it might be okay. However, there are a handful of restaurants within walking distance. What truly made the trip great were the people. Following Melissa’s recommendations, we were treated like family. We used Lolly and Libby for transportation, and they were fantastic. Lolly took us to get groceries on the way from the airport, and Libby took us to breakfast on the way back.Patrick from Roatan Collect People Tours picked us up right from the dock and took us out for an amazing day on the boat snorkeling. Dixie cooked us a wonderful home-cooked meal. Juan Carlos, the gardener, kept the property looking beautiful. We would book one of Melissa’s properties again in a heartbeat; we couldn't have asked for a better host!

Awesome all around!!

Wonderful access to the beach and restaurants. Secluded private pool. Our host, Melissa, was extremely responsive and very friendly. Great location via water taxi to get to west Bay and West End. Near and excellent dive and snorkel outfit. We’d go back in a flash!!

Slice of Paradise

My family of 6 adults was very comfortable in this beautiful home. We snorkelled on the reef every day when weather permitted and enjoyed our beach walks to West End and West Bay. Melissa and her team were very responsive and met all of our needs and then some! We felt very safe during our stay and appreciated the security guard doing his nightly rounds. Our family vacation was everything we hoped it would be!

Wow! Wow! Wow! A True slice of paradise❤️

I can't say enough glowing things about our stay at Slice of Paradise. Melissa is possibly the best property manager I have ever worked with! She was so responsive, helping us prepare for the trip and arranged for a driver to pick us up at the airport including a stop at Eldon's. Melissa was so responsive during our stay, quickly answering any questions. Let's talk about the house - absolutely wonderful in every way. Clean, stocked and the pool and palapa/dock were well used! Avocados right off the deck meant avocado toast every morning. We snorkeled right off front and loved hailing down the water taxis. Loly's tour to AJs, brewery & mangroves is a must! Also, Dixie was delightful and made dinner for us twice. If you are looking for a catamaran - check out Ecologic they were fantastic. This is an experience we will always remember and can't wait to come back. Thank you, Melissa for everything!

Amazing vacation

This property was in the best location, right in between West Bay and West End. Several great restaurants within walking distance to the West Bay direction. Melissa responded immediately with all questions and gave us recommendations of where to eat, etc. You must have Dixie come and cook a meal at the house! That is a must! Loly was sooo awesome and sweet. She took us to and from the airport and also to see the sloths! Clearwater diving is a couple minutes walk. They were fantastic and only had very small groups. which was great as I had not been diving in several years! Bring a lot cash... but we did have luck with paying the restaurants with card and venmo. We will definitely be back!!

Perfect location and a lovely house

We really enjoyed our time at Slice of Paradise, especially the sunsets on the covered palapa. House was great and the property management support was even better. The location was pretty much smack dab in the middle between West End and West Bay. It was simple to catch a water taxi to go to either, but we spent most of our time snorkeling the beautiful reefs and then hanging at the house.Super comfortable and relaxing place. Recommend!

Wish we could have stayed longer

We enjoyed our stay at Slice of Paradise. No surprises, great service from everyone involved from Melissa. Juan Carlos, and Dixie. You get the best if both worlds here, peace and tranquility when you want and a short walk down the beach you can have a more upbeat bar scene. The less than a minute walk to the Palapa is where we spent most of our time snorkeling, relaxing and watching boats go by. Many nice restaurants easy walk down the beach. Would have loved to stay longer.

Beautiful house in paradise

This was our 3rd time in the Orchid Beach neighborhood, 1st time at Slice of paradise. The house is nice and plenty roomy for 3 couples. We wanted to be waterfront but enjoyed hanging out on the dock just a flight of stairs away. Nice beach for walking and snorkeling from shore, a quick water taxi from town. Beds are comfy, water pressure & internet is what we expect in Roatan. Melissa is an amazing hostess, helping us with last minute changes and answering all of our questions quickly and always cheerfully. So glad we had Loly as our driver and tour guide, she was fun and shared the real island with us. Don't miss out on having Dixie cook a meal or 3, delicious island food and a wonderful woman.

Beautiful home in a perfect location

We stayed in the home with two other couples for a week. We chose to rent the master suite for the extra bigger bed. The home was very clean, very spacious, well stocked kitchen, plenty of drinking water and everything we could need for the week. Melissa was wonderful to work with. Very responsive to any questions or concerns and met us at the home shortly after arrival to go over things and get us settled. She arranged for Loly to pick us up at the airport and made dinner reservations for us at Pazzo prior to our arrival. We had Dixie cook for our group three nights. That was one of the best decisions we made. Her cooking is fabulous and we had more food than we could eat. We loved being between West End and West Bay. We could walk or take a short water taxi to each location. Clearwater Adventures is a 5 minute walk down the beach and provided excellent diving for the group. Juan Carlos and his little boy, the groundskeeper, brought us coconuts so we could have fresh coconut water. He kept the grounds and pool clean and neat. Good snorkeling right off the dock which is a short walk from the home. We are already planning a trip back!

Excellent house in excellent location!

We had an amazing time on our first visit to Roatan! The house is a perfect location and was just as the picture showed! Melissa was so incredibly helpful before we arrived and after we got there! She was available for any and all of our questions! We used Loly to take us on a tour and for our airport transfers and she was the best! So fun and helpful! Make sure you schedule Dixie to come and cook for your group! That was one of the highlights of our trip! There are so many wonderful things I could say, but you won’t be disappointed if you stay here! We hope to make it back!

excellent stay and service

Wonderful Island Retreat

2nd stay

We stayed at "A Slice of Paradise" for the 2nd time last month. It was just as wonderful as we remembered it, and it was nice to be able to show my mother in law this beautiful home. We stayed for 11 nights, and we had a blast. The dock connected to this property got a palapa and swing since the last time we visited which was a pleasant surprise. This property is within walking distance of some amazing restaurants and shops. You can catch a water taxi right off the dock, and some boat tour companies will also pick you up right off the dock. So convenient and beautiful.

Wonderful week in Roatan!!

This is our second time staying in this incredible home. Perfect for 2-3 couples! Kitchen has all the cooking tools you need! The beach is so close, the dock is fun to hang out on. We walked to restaurants in West Bay and West End. Perfect location! Planning our trip for next year already! Thank you Melissa for everything!

Amazing Stay!

We stayed here for a week and had the most wonderful time! Melissa was available for questions at all times and she responded within seconds. She made our stay run so smoothly. She arranged pickup from the airport, helped us check in to the home and let us know about things to do on the island. She arranged dinner at the home with Dixie-ceviche, lobster and keylime pie were soooo good! She also arranged a day with Loly who drove us around the island, took us to hold the sloths and boat ride with mangrove tour and snorkeling. Melissa also arranged for us to have a dolphin encounter and then got to snorkel with them. I would highly recommend all of these experiences. We spent a ton of time snorkeling right off the dock and saw eagle rays, many lobsters, an octopus and tons of cool fish. We did a couple of dives with Clearwater Adventures. Tanya was a super instructor and made us all super comfortable during our refresher course (it had been 15 years!). My daughter (who is 17 and not Padi certified) got to dive with us too. She was highly supervised by Tanya while in the water. She LOVED it and we got to see a GIANT sea turtle. As I am writing this, it almost seems like a really wild and amazing dream-but it was real! We can't wait to return!

Perfect home and location

The house was really incredible! It is even better than the photos in the listing! Melissa made the entire stay wonderful for us by answering any questions we had, she helped to arrange a great dinner at the house prepared by Chef Dixie, and helped us arrange a fishing trip. We love this area of Roatan between West End and West Bay. We have already booked again for March! Thank you Melissa for a wonderful trip!!

Amazing!

Perfect property for our stay. 1 minute walk to beach and dock. Just a few minutes to Clearwater Adventures for diving/snorkeling. Kitchen had everything we needed. Clean and beautiful! Melissa was a phenomenal host - very responsive and helpful. We will be back!
