River Getaway Weekend

What we enjoyed the most about this property included the easy access to a beautiful river entry, a great swimming pool for tanning and easy distance to restaurants.

Family Vacation

We picked the location for the distance to Schlitterbahn. The condo was very quiet, access to the river was a plus. Everything inside the condo was very clean and was very functional. We will definitely come back to stay!

Some floated the Comal River, went to Schlitterbahn, Gristmill, and/or sat on the banks on the Guadalupe River. We were able to set up canopies and tables, corn hole set, washer set in the lower section of the units to gather for the big meal and play some games. It was hot so bring your portable fans (Dewalt is what we had) for the tables to keep yourself and loved ones cool.

We came in from a day at Schlitterbahn on Saturday and tried to sit outside in the balcony and eat supper and some of the neighbors thought we wanted to listen to their music ????so loud and obnoxious . Should be a restriction on the noise. Didn’t bother to call anyone to get it stopped . Just disrespectful

Perfect getaway

This was the perfect location. Walking distance to the river; close to downtown. The pools were very nice and clean the hot tubs were very nice. Deer came right up to the property. We will definitely stay again!

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall a 4. Condo, location, and amenities were great. Our particular condo (J202) had a few problems, but more nuisance than anything that hampered our enjoyment. Master bath had very slow draining sink, and guest bath towel rack wasn't attached to wall. Only real dissappointmnt was that we stayed from Friday until Tuesday, and after the weekend, all trash cans and ash cans at BBQ grills (nice touch) very all stuffed full, and weren't emptied until our leisurely day at the pool and grilling out on Monday was surrounded by overflowing trash barrels.

We appreciate reviews as they help us to enhance our services to our guests and owners. We do provide guests our office and maintenance phone numbers so that the guests may contact us with any issues that arise during their stay. Maintenance would have come out to have fixed the sink and the towel rack. We will notify the HOA Property Management company and let them know that the trash cans need attention to daily in our high season, especially over the weekend.

F202 had a nice large living room which made for a nice place to gather with the family. The view of the expansive rear lawn was nice and the river was only a short walk across the lawn.

It was just a short walk from the river and close to all attractions. The only thing we were not pleased with was the two loud parties going on in the condo next to ours. People screaming, taking their clothes off and acting crazy til 3 in the morning and the grounds keeper never told them to tone it down when she clearly seen what they were doing. But other than that it was great.

We wished that you would have called our after hours on-call staff phone number. We may not manage either one of the units next to you, but we could have made a few phone calls, first one to WaterWheel Security and the second to NBPD for back up. There is a noise ordinance here in New Braunfels that could have been enforced. Glad to hear that everything else was great!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The shower was not cleaned after the last people....there was still hair on the walls. There were no cleaning supplies to clean the counter in the kitchen. Only 1 small Pyrex dish to bake with. The furniture, especially the kitchen table, was well used. We could not get the TVs to work. Quite time was not quite for everyone else in the community.

We extend our apologies about the cleanliness of the condo. If you had called us and notified us, we would have gladly sent out one of our housekeepers to have cleaned it appropriately as it had been cleaned by a different company here in town. As for the kitchen ware, we will reach out to the owner for replacements.

The front of the property and surrounding areas look dim, but this unit is fantastic! Don’t let your first glimpse of the property fool you. Room was nice and clean, and the view from the patio is just fantastic! Every evening, multiple deer would come right up to the building to eat. Beds were comfortable, and everything in the kitchen worked just fine. The Guadalupe River runs just behind the property, so you can literally walk to it and get in! The pool is also in great shape and also has two hot tubs. We enjoyed our stay, and will not look anywhere else when coming back to this area. Rented through River City Resorts and had no complaints. Their staff were very friendly and helpful. It was a perfect stay for our river trip!

Thank you for your review! We are happy that you found your condo clean and in a convenient location. We would like to apologize for the rudeness of some of the guests and wish that we could guarantee that all guests would mind their manners and abide by the HOA rules. River City Resorts has a no pets policy unless we have owners who very specifically wish to allow pets. Many owner do not want pets due to allergies of guests and to possible damages caused by pets in unfamiliar locations. We declare on our arrival information email, what items will be provided (laundry detergent is not provided) and suggested items to bring for the comfort of a guests stay. We hope to see you back soon!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Over all the condo was comfortable. It was stocked well with all amenities. The bathrooms and kitchen were clean, the beds were clean and very comfortable (best bed in a condo ever!). Unfortunately on first walk-in the walls, doors and light switches, the rug in living-room were all very dirty and worn. There were dirty hand prints and drywall damage on nearly every wall. The parking was also VERY congested at night. There is only one marked parking spot and the second is wherever you can find one. We had to park our second car in the street one night. It is a good setup (2/2 w balcony, nice "backyard" and pool w hot tub) and location (on Guadalupe and very near Schlitterbahn close to downtown). I think for $391/night (fees included) these few things should be addressed. I give it 3.5 stars overall because the bed was comfortable, it was "clean" and a good location, but the owner needs to give it some TLC and the management needs to address parking issues. I would probably rent it again but with lower expectations.

Waterwheel sits on the Guadalupe River and has great amenities! This unfortunately has drawn non-paying guests to the property to try to take advantage of those amenities, therefore security is tight. We loved the modern feel of the unit, the view out the living area towards the large open lawn & pool (saw multiple deer throughout our stay), and it's location relative to Schlitterbahn (5 blocks away). With that said, we ran into an issue with the wifi not working properly, which River City Resorts promptly fixed...sent a repairman to assess the situation and got us up & running that day (outdated router). The main issue/problem we encountered was the quality of bed in the second, smaller bedroom. If you breathed wrong, the bed creaked...loudly. And we discovered the neighbors above us would leave a dog during the day in their unit that would yelp frequently. Also, I had a personal beef with being required to wear a wristband that was handwritten on by the River City Resort staff...felt like I was at a camp for 11 year olds wearing it all week. There has to be a better system.

We are glad that you enjoyed your stay at Waterwheel! We will pass on the information to the owner in regards to the guest bed. Due to the wonderful grounds of Waterwheel, the HOA has experienced many people trespassing on the grounds and taking advantage of the open lawn and pool. The HOA has all property managements issue wristbands to all guests for security purposes and to verify that all the guests (and owners who have yellow removable bands) are permitted onsite. We apologize for the inconvenience, but are working under the rules of the HOA.

Great Place to Stay
