Perfect cabin for large groups. The main selling point for me was the 12 ensuites…no one had to share a bathroom! The deck was large enough for the whole family and the view of Mt. Le Conte was amazing! We will definitely book this property again!

Great property

The house is beautiful, and has tons of space for everyone. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you could need. Definitely the best kitchen of all the homes I have stayed in.

A fantastic family gathering location

This was an excellent location and facility for 3 generations to gather. There was plenty of space with separate rooms and private bathrooms. We especially appreciated the large open spaces with plenty of seating in the common areas.

Absolutely amazing property! Great view, amazing space, stocked with everything you’d need for cooking! We had a great weekend here. Roads up to the house were narrow but we were still able to get our larger cars up. Amazing weekend!!

The house was absolutely beautiful. We loved that everyone in our large group got their own bedroom and bathroom. Everything was clean and I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great cabin with lots of space.

We enjoyed Laurel Lodge. Beautiful space, great appliances and layout.We had the ages of 90-9 months and everyone had a good time. There were black bears, mostly entertaining once we saw one. As long as cars are free of food are locked and you don’t store food on the deck you’re good. We do wish there had been a Costco or Sam’s closer.Holston’s Catering was great!

Great for our group!

We stayed here for our staff retreat. It was perfect. Everyone had their own bedroom and bathroom. The common spaces were great for our meetings, free time, and meals. It was close to Gatlinburg but felt like we were living in the trees. The house is beautiful and updated. I have already booked us for next year.

Great for Staff Retreats

This is the 2nd stay for our staff of 12. The home is perfect for our annual staff retreats. We love the individual bedrooms with bathrooms, the huge kitchen and living space and the movie room. It's close to town but feels like living in the trees.The outdoor space is great too but we had bear friends hanging out around the house so we didn't use that too much.

Great House for Groups!

Lots of bedrooms, comfortable beds, each bedroom has its own bathroom. Lovely deck with rocking chairs, beautiful views of mountains and woods. Saw a black bear nearby. Large well-equipped kitchen and good-sized gathering rooms for dining, sitting and nice theater room seating 18 plus bean bag chairs. Plenty of space to park. Everyone loved it!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful time on our yearly "In Memory of Josh Lawhorn" trip. We loved the fact the lodge held noise well. Two fridges and freezer made planning for food perfect. Gas grill is so nice. Parking for 10 cars can be hard, but you work with what the hill provides. Will hopefully use this cabin again next year, unless our group grows.

The Smokey Mountains

From my first phone conversation to my last phone call to Ms. Pam, I've felt welcomed. My family and I really enjoyed the space and the views. The house was really spacious enough for us to enjoy every square inch. Let's get into the location! We'll it was the travel up the mountain for me. That was the scariest ride ever. Then the day after Christmas we went out into town. It started to snow so that made the travel back up the mountain even more scary. Saying all of that to say beautiful house, scary drive to it.

Great Option for Large Groups

Has a little bit of everything for large groups - large, functional kitchen; 12 bedrooms, each with a private bathroom; multiple sitting areas with TVs as well as the theater room; deck that can accommodate a large group; plenty of dining space; proximity to Gatlinburg, etc. We would probably stay there again. Here are our nit picks: 1. If you are bringing a large conversion van, you will struggle on the road/driveway getting to the chalet. Minivans and trucks were fine. 2. It could use a couple more game/activity options. Has a pool table, which we used heavily, and a shuffle board which we did not. The shuffle board table is a bit useless as the pucks do not slide for anything. Adding an arcade game or a ping pong table would be awesome. 3. We had one maintenance issue that became an annoyance. Our second day (of five days total), the fridge seal popped off and would not allow the fridge door to stay closed. It looked like this had happened frequently before and had been fixed with spit and hope. We called the maintenance line and were told a worker would be out the next morning to fix it. They never came and we got no communication whatsoever the rest of the trip. We used a chair propped against the door to keep it closed.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is our second time renting this home for a family reunion. The setup and condition of the house are perfect for our family. It has been renovated since we last visited. The kitchen setup is perfect with double ovens/cooktops/dishwashers/coffee makers/trash cans and plenty of cookware, utensils, and cups. The expanded deck is really nice but we did wish there were a few more chairs on the deck. The kids loved the theater room, the internet was fast, and the TVs had cable plus smart capabilities for streaming. With the pool table and provided games we could have spent the whole time in the house and been very happy. We were happy to find the grills are now up on the deck (for bear safety) and we were supplied with ample propane for our stay. Everyone at Mountain Laurel Chalets was wonderful to work with and I would happily rent from them again as they made the entire rental experience easy and were all so nice. The only thing that would prevent us from renting this house again is that the bears are very aggressive about trying to get food from cars and have learned to come by regularly to check if cars are open and also would not leave us alone while we were trying to pack up and leave. I really think the owners should add more substantial fencing around the parking area and also work with the wildlife agency to figure out how to keep the bears off the property. It is clear they know what to do to get what they want (people food) and are willing to be pretty aggressive to get it.

We saw black bear every day we were there, including one on the top deck. One car was broken into by a bear. The only down side was that the ice maker broke mid way thru our stay and was not repaired. We had 4 days without ice.
