Wonderful cabin

Our stay was outstanding, perfect weather to open the windows and listen to the gurgling stream! The cabin is perfect and nicely secluded with amenities still within a 5 minute drive. We will be booking this one again for sure!!

Sweet lil get-away w my hubby.. Cabin was nice w the gas fireplace keeping it nice and warm and the babbling brook and hammock were perfect❤️

Quaint and comfy

We loved the cabin and especially loved hanging out on the deck and listening to the creek. The cabin was cozy and had everything we needed. We will be back.

Birthday Getaway

Had a great weekend staying at the cabin for a girls weekend to celebrate my birthday! The cabin is so cute and cozy! The corner sleeping nook was my favorite, and the kitchen was extremely well equipped. We loved the hot tub by the creek and using the firepit. Thanks for a great weekend!

Charming cottage

Nice, clean, cute little house with a fantastic hot tub. My only quibble is it was listed as two bedrooms but in fact there are no bedrooms - rather a loft open to the floor below and then two beds tucked into corners of the downstairs living area... It was fine for us but surprising!

Cozy and quiet

Though there were only 2 adults for our stay, this cabin would easily accommodate 6 (as long as everyone can schedule around 1 bathroom). Very clean, well appointed, and directions for use of pretty much everything in the house were included. Outdoor area (deck, hot tub, fire pit, creekside porch) is fabulous, and would be great for adults and kids any time of the year. This home made for a peaceful weekend.

Close to everything but you still feel extremely private. Thank you for allowing us to occupy this cute little cabin. Cabin was extremely clean and well kept.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: From the moment you drive through the dense landscape and enter the idyllic grounds, you are transported to a magical place. Everything about this rental is unique and inviting, touching all your senses and instilling one with a sense of peace. Not too big, not too small....just perfect for our family of 5 adults/teens. Beds are comfy, kitchen is well stocked, as is the bathroom. Water pressure is a bit low and it was a little warm with no AC (we visited in mid August), but not a crisis. It is about 13 miles from App State...a bit further than we imagined but a beautiful drive nonetheless. This is quite the find and I would strongly reccomend the experience! We will definitely be back.....

Practically perfect retreat!

Came on my own to recharge my introvert battery, and this place was such a great place to do it. The fireplace keeps the whole cabin cozy, even with high winds and single digit wind chills! The hot tub was the perfect place to soak and enjoy the snow falling all around me. The back deck would be perfect for small groups and there’s enough yard for kids to play if you have them with you. The kitchen was more equipped than the listing indicated, but does need a big stock pot. The location was perfect- there were houses all around but I could only really see one across the creek and way up the hill. There are SO many rhododendrons that I can only imagine the beauty when they bloom. The house feels so private and quiet but you are maybe 5-10 minutes from West Jefferson. The driveway is the steepest part of your trek in and out, and it’s not bad. Things to keep in mind: -every bed downstairs is elevated with only a small step stool to get in and out. Because they are wedged into corners it’d be a bit tricky to have 2 adults in there! One of the beds is on a platform thing so high that it really needs a two-step stool to climb in and out. -the third bed is up a tiny, narrow spiral staircase that I wouldn’t have felt comfortable navigating for middle of the night potty breaks downstairs. I loved my stay and hope to come back again next year.

Minor things would’ve made this a great stay

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: While we made some great memories with our children I will say this is the first time my husband and I have not LOVED a cabin. We never really got comfortable there for a few reasons. There was an overwhelming stale and old odor to the home. The blankets, throws and carpets even the couch had a dingy feel and look to it. You could tell the place had not been vacuumed organ been dusted anywhere. I tried to find candle to light I even found a oil burner that had wax melts I tried to use to cover this smell. If someone before us had a dog the futon upstairs had dog hair in the fibers of the bed so when we put our two year old to sleep we covered it with blankets that smelled old but not the worst. Other than that we made the most of it. I was really appreciative of the toys left in the coffee table of the living room as we let our daughter play with them but those too needed a wash down. Everything else was ok.

Perfect getaway

This place is so much better than the listing shows. It’s perfectly quaint and located right next to a babbling stream which made sleeping so peaceful. The house is cozy and comfortable and perfectly located near West Jefferson for dinner and shopping, but also near so many hiking trails.
