Private, Yet Close to Everything!

Grab your honey, your dog, or your best friend and get away to this cozy mountain cabin. The Downtown Cabin is a pet-friendly A-frame with a towering beamed living room, located just a couple minutes from downtown West Jefferson. The location can't be beat!

The open floor plan on the main level includes a great room with TV, which opens into the well-equipped kitchen. The kitchen features stainless appliances and a large island: perfect for entertaining or money-saving meals at home. The master bedroom is conveniently located on this level as well, offering a private TV and a king-size bed for a great night's sleep. The private en suite master bath has a tub and shower combo.

An additional bedroom in the loft has a queen bed, an adjacent seating area and its own TV. All 3 TVs are connected to the internet so you can stream your favorite shows using your account (only streaming available). There's a handy half-bath on the main level as well, including a washer and dryer for your use. You'll also enjoy the warmth and ambiance of the living room's gas stove.

In the High Country, however, no one wants to stay inside for long. The Downtown Cabin provides a lovely park-like setting, with a wide lawn, surrounded by woods and caressed by the cool mountain breeze. Enjoy privacy and serenity from your wide covered deck – perfect for enjoying bird song and a beverage, or conversation with your favorite people. There's a charcoal grill for dining al fresco. You'll also love star-gazing at night from your luxury hot tub!

When you're ready to go exploring, you'll be amazed to see how close you are to charming downtown West Jefferson. The Downtown Cabin really gives you the best of the High Country.

Location, Location, Location!

The Downtown Cabin is a perfect place to relax, as well as a great base from which to explore the High Country. In 2-3 minutes you can be in West Jefferson, enjoying small town America at its finest. Experience the shops, restaurants, breweries, galleries, movie theaters and festivals, and watch cheese being made at the famous Ashe County Cheese Factory. Don't miss the great antiques shopping at Antiques and Main, just a minute from the cabin.

When you're ready for restaurant dining, you'll find several options in both West Jefferson. If you like craft beer, check out Boondocks and New River Brewing. Fine dining is available at Craft Bistro and Morchella Provisions, and Home Slice is the place for pizza.

As you venture out to explore, visit Boone and Blowing Rock, for an even wider assortment of dining, entertainment and shopping options. Tour the campus of Appalachian State University, find live music and free concerts, or bring home a treasure from an arts and crafts fair.

From the Downtown Cabin you're also no more than 20 minutes from the New River – a gentle, slow-moving river, safe and enjoyable for all ages. Take a swim, or try some fishing, canoeing, tubing or kayaking. Local outfitters will set you up with everything you need.

Here in Blue Ridge Country, the journey is as satisfying as the destination, with gorgeous scenery at every turn. Our numerous hiking, biking and horseback riding trails provide some healthy endorphins and unlimited, amazing photo ops. Fall foliage here is indescribably beautiful. If you're craving a snowy mountain winter, you've also come to the right place. Enjoy sledding, snowboarding, skating – and don't forget skiing – all winter long.

Secluded and included

When you were at the cabin, you felt like you were the only one around but just go two blocks and you can get to just about anything you wanted! Super location. Great restaurants downtown, will be back next year.

Needs Central Air unit.

Property was really nice. Very clean. Great location. Quiet neighborhood. My only issue was the air conditioning. There was no central air conditioning. It had 3 window units and they were fairly loud when running. We stayed at the property in July, so they actually ran about all the time. It made watching tv a small problem because of the noise.

Stayed a week in this cabin for our anniversary. Cabin was clean and close to downtown.The cabin is close to trails, restaurants, and shopping as well. Hot tub was clean and was in working order. Would book again.

Great place close to town.

Great little cabin, might be tight for more than two. Everything that you need. I'd recommend it to anybody who wants to be close to West Jefferson.

Many great features but one drawback.

One of its most initial factors turned out to be also one of its most problematic. It is close to downtown West Jefferson. It is close to a grocery store and has easy access to the highway. So easy that the noise of the highway and road to downtown were loud and spoiled the peaceful looking and spacious front porch. Inside, the noise level was fine and late at night and early in the am. Otherwise, clean, well appointed, and great service.

Very nice cabin. Was perfect location. Close to downtown yet seemed isolated and private. Hot tub was great. Bed comfortable. Sleep very well. Kitchen had everything you need.

Gorgeous Log Cabin close to town

We came out to West Jefferson on Thursday to do an organized bike ride and stayed in this cabin until early Monday morning. It was clean and spacious and really very nice. The beds (at least the bed downstairs that we slept in) was very comfortable. We spent a lot of time on the front porch enjoying the weather and watching the baby deer and what we think was a gopher. The hot tub was glorious as there was a slight chill in the air. While within walking distance of downtown, the cabin was very private. We didn’t see any other cars or people on the street next to the cabin the while time we were there. The traffic on Saturday night was a bit loud because there was an old car rally and it really is that close to downtown, but for the rest of our stay it was quite quiet. The driveway is a bit steep and we found it easier to back up it than back down it (so maybe others might do the same). The only issue we had was the trash disposal, as somehow we ended up reenacting Arlo Guthrie part in Alice’s Restaurant driving around town with a bag of garbage because we could not find the disposal place, only to determine that it was closed on Sundays (pray we do not end up on the Group W bench). The downtown area is cute with several restaurants, two breweries and a lot of antique stores, and we took a drive to the top of Mt Jefferson (about 3 miles away), which has several trails and lookout areas. We would definitely stay there again.

Perfect location

My husband and I and two friends were very happy as we drove up the driveway the cabin was beautiful. Inside it was decorated nicely and so clean. It was a perfect three night vacation. As stated in the write up it is a steep driveway in fact we had to put our truck in 4 wheel drive😃 There is a charcoal grill not a gas grill so if needed bring some coal. The cabin was so close to all the shopping, food, groceries store and liquor store in west Jefferson would highly recommend this place to anyone😄

Beautiful Cabin

This was probably one of the best vacation rentals we have ever stayed at. Although we didn't get to do much cooking, the kitchen was fully stocked! Beautifully decorated, ( I'm trying to find a quilt like the one on the king bed), and comfortable. I appreciate that we could have our fur babies with us, they loved laying on the porch and watching the wildlife. It was perfect for my husband and I. We travel to that area the same weekend every year for a special event honoring our son who passed away a few years ago. We will definitely consider this cabin again next year. Thank you!!

Cute Cabin

My husband and I and small dog enjoyed our stay. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed (could have used a few more dish towels). Close to downtown restaurants and shops. We wished it had a better view of the mountains. The driveway was challenging as at the very top it was not paved and was difficult to get up and down even with our SUV. Also, the hot tub smelled musty just standing next to it even with the cover on. We only used it the first day for a short period. We couldn't stand the smell and our suits smelled musty even after rinsing them.

Very comfortable stay. Great central location for traveling to Boone and Blowing Rock. Best of all right in Downtown West Jefferson where we spent most of our time.

Wonderful Cabin Close to Everything

We loved this cabin. A girlfriend and I stayed there and found the space very comfortable. It is close to downtown West Jefferson and easy to get to Blowing Rock and the Parkway. We saw deer on the property and enjoyed the deck every afternoon. The kitchen is well appointed and it is convenient to the market. We did use our 4 wheel drive to make the turn onto the driveway but otherwise very nice property. We will definitely be back.

Great location

We enjoyed our stay at the downtown cabin. It was clean, dog friendly, had everything we needed, and was only a stone’s throw to downtown West Jefferson. I wouldn’t say it’s exactly walkable as there’s no sidewalks leading from the property to the downtown area but it’s do-able. Overall great experience and would recommend for solo travelers, couples, or small group of 2-4 people.

Quiet, quaint and cozy! Exceptionally clean. Easy to get to.

We had a good relaxing stay. College friends together to play golf. We were very comfortable in this little getaway. The only complaint is while I was looking for a place to stay the description said two bathrooms. Then when I got the confirmation did it tell me that it was one and a half baths. We made it work though and would come back.
