This was a perfect place to unwind and rejuvenate. The privacy and scenery were perfect. Listening to the creek while sitting by the fire pit, completely mesmerizing. Felt completely at home and comfortable. Will return. Highly recommend!!The only areas I could see for improvement is updating towels and wash towels ( they are a bit worn) outside furniture covers (current has mold from being left in the weather) , coffee pots (1/3 worked).

The cabin was clean upon arrival and easy to get key and get inside. We enjoyed the back porch and hot tub both evenings. The upstairs loft bed was the best quality bed/sleeping space of the three options. The two bed nooks on main level was so high from the floor that we literally had to pull the foot stool from the living area over to climb up in the bed, and we are all average height agile adults. The kitchen is well appointed and the bathroom has a rub and a small shower. Clean and adequate. If you will be attending an event at SALOON STUDIOS or OLD BARN WINERY, this cabin is a good choice as it's very near both.

Thank you for your review. We're so glad you enjoyed the hot tub, back porch, and found the cabin clean and easy to access. It's great to hear the location was convenient as well. We also appreciate your feedback about the main-level bed nooks. They're designed to create a cozy cabin experience, but we understand they may not be the best fit for every guest, and your comments are helpful. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for another relaxing mountain getaway!

The cabin was overall good, yet there was no AC the first night which made the inside a bit muggy. The stepping stones leading to the steps from the driveway could pose a slipping hazard.

Thank you for your feedback. We're glad to hear you enjoyed the cabin overall, but we're sorry the air conditioning wasn't working properly on your first night. We understand how uncomfortable that can be, and we appreciate your patience while the issue was addressed. Thank you as well for pointing out your concern about the stepping stones leading from the driveway. We take guest safety seriously and will share your comments with our team so they can evaluate the area. We appreciate you staying with us and hope you'll consider giving Creekside Escape another visit in the future.

Enjoyed our stay here. A rustic cabin but clean, fully equipped on a great property beside a rushing creek only 5 minutes from West Jefferson.

Cozy and quiet

Though there were only 2 adults for our stay, this cabin would easily accommodate 6 (as long as everyone can schedule around 1 bathroom). Very clean, well appointed, and directions for use of pretty much everything in the house were included. Outdoor area (deck, hot tub, fire pit, creekside porch) is fabulous, and would be great for adults and kids any time of the year. This home made for a peaceful weekend.

Charming cottage

Nice, clean, cute little house with a fantastic hot tub. My only quibble is it was listed as two bedrooms but in fact there are no bedrooms - rather a loft open to the floor below and then two beds tucked into corners of the downstairs living area... It was fine for us but surprising!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The same things that didn't work (stove, dining room light, lamps) described in the 10/10 visitors from Raleigh were still in same condition for me. Cobwebs on the note board by the kitchen sink and dusty bookshelf area.... Place was peaceful and in good location. I will come back.

Cute, comfy cabin

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved this cute little cabin. A few little problems upon arriving but the wonderful rental company took care of things right away. We loved sleeping in sunroom listening to the creek. Quirky light switches..or trying to find them. But cabin has everything needed for a great stay. Close to everything but you still feel extremely private. Thank you for allowing us to occupy this cute little cabin. Cabin was extremely clean and well kept.

STEP INTO A STORYBOOK FAIRYTALE......

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: From the moment you drive through the dense landscape and enter the idyllic grounds, you are transported to a magical place. Everything about this rental is unique and inviting, touching all your senses and instilling one with a sense of peace. Not too big, not too small....just perfect for our family of 5 adults/teens. Beds are comfy, kitchen is well stocked, as is the bathroom. Water pressure is a bit low and it was a little warm with no AC (we visited in mid August), but not a crisis. It is about 13 miles from App State...a bit further than we imagined but a beautiful drive nonetheless. This is quite the find and I would strongly reccomend the experience! We will definitely be back.....

Practically perfect retreat!

Came on my own to recharge my introvert battery, and this place was such a great place to do it. The fireplace keeps the whole cabin cozy, even with high winds and single digit wind chills! The hot tub was the perfect place to soak and enjoy the snow falling all around me. The back deck would be perfect for small groups and there’s enough yard for kids to play if you have them with you. The kitchen was more equipped than the listing indicated, but does need a big stock pot. The location was perfect- there were houses all around but I could only really see one across the creek and way up the hill. There are SO many rhododendrons that I can only imagine the beauty when they bloom. The house feels so private and quiet but you are maybe 5-10 minutes from West Jefferson. The driveway is the steepest part of your trek in and out, and it’s not bad. Things to keep in mind: -every bed downstairs is elevated with only a small step stool to get in and out. Because they are wedged into corners it’d be a bit tricky to have 2 adults in there! One of the beds is on a platform thing so high that it really needs a two-step stool to climb in and out. -the third bed is up a tiny, narrow spiral staircase that I wouldn’t have felt comfortable navigating for middle of the night potty breaks downstairs. I loved my stay and hope to come back again next year.

Minor things would’ve made this a great stay

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: While we made some great memories with our children I will say this is the first time my husband and I have not LOVED a cabin. We never really got comfortable there for a few reasons. There was an overwhelming stale and old odor to the home. The blankets, throws and carpets even the couch had a dingy feel and look to it. You could tell the place had not been vacuumed organ been dusted anywhere. I tried to find candle to light I even found a oil burner that had wax melts I tried to use to cover this smell. If someone before us had a dog the futon upstairs had dog hair in the fibers of the bed so when we put our two year old to sleep we covered it with blankets that smelled old but not the worst. Other than that we made the most of it. I was really appreciative of the toys left in the coffee table of the living room as we let our daughter play with them but those too needed a wash down. Everything else was ok.
