Beyond the local terrain, the legendary slopes of Telluride are just a scenic 45-mile drive away, making this the ideal hub for hiking, mountain biking, 4-wheeling, and world-class climbing.

The interior is designed to meet the spirit of adventure with the deep solace of home. The heart of the house is an expansive great room featuring a newly remodeled chef’s kitchen—complete with a six-burner gas range and premium cookware—which flows into a cozy living area designed for long conversations or quiet movie nights. Every corner feels curated and intentional, from the two serene queen bedrooms to the unique character of the bathrooms. For those living the rugged mountain lifestyle, the home is fully equipped with a laundry room and a spacious, carpeted garage perfect for sorting gear or drying out kits after a day in the snow or on the summer trails.

The true soul of the retreat is found on the deck facing the mountains, where the massive views command your attention and invite you to stay a while. Mountain Adventure Retreats was founded on a deep-rooted passion for the San Juan Mountains and a shared commitment to excellence in hospitality and property care. The venture began in 2013, sparked by Laura’s long-standing love for Ouray County. A lifelong Coloradan who first discovered the Ridgway and Ouray area in 2001, Laura brought with her an extensive background in business, marketing, and travel management. Her years of experience in the ski and property management industries across North America’s premier destinations provided the foundation for a company built on community and exceptional service.

In 2020, the team expanded when Steve moved from Dallas to join Laura in Ouray County. Steve’s arrival marked the beginning of a new chapter for the company, bringing forty-three years of high-level construction management experience to the team. Having served as Vice President for some of the nation’s top General Contractors, he integrated professional expertise in budgeting, procurement, and project oversight into the company’s property maintenance and caretaking operations. His own connection to the state dates back to 1993, when participating in Ride the Rockies ignited a lifelong passion for Colorado’s dramatic landscapes.

Today, Laura and Steve work side-by-side to lead a dedicated team of professionals focused on delivering top-tier property care. When they aren't overseeing the finer details of a guest's stay or maintaining local residences, they are often found embracing the outdoors together. Whether they are cycling, skiing, hiking, or fishing, they remain inspired by the ever-changing seasons and the rugged beauty of the San Juan Mountains.

Sitting roughly 1,000 feet above the Ridgway valley floor, this area provides a "top of the world" perspective, offering unobstructed sights of the rugged Sneffels Range and the Cimarrons. The landscape is a lush transition zone of Ponderosa pines, Gambel oaks, and juniper, creating a high-desert mountain atmosphere that feels both secluded and grand. This unique geography makes the neighborhood a sanctuary for local wildlife, where it is common to see elk, mule deer, and bald eagles moving through the expansive, private lots.

Beyond the natural scenery, the community is anchored by a wealth of outdoor amenities and a quiet, rural-residential lifestyle. Residents have direct access to the Divide Ranch & Golf Club and miles of maintained hiking and biking trails, such as the Escarpment Trail, which leads to the famous overlooks at Inspiration Point.
