OCCUPANCY LIMIT 6 This 4-bedroom 2 bath sits directly on the Saco River with 5500' of private frontage. 37 acres with 2 miles of trails plus beaches along the river! There is a private dock on the property and a public boat launch just down the road. Open kitchen and living room with cathedral ceiling and wood floors. One bedroom and one bathroom on the 1st floor, 2 bedrooms on the 2nd floor plus a reading nook with views of the river. The basement has one bedroom and one bathroom. The 3-season sunroom is a great option to take in the wildlife. Horse accommodation is available. Run-in shed with a 40x40 paddock. Water on site at the paddock along with electricity. Driveway is trailer friendly. Additional water and electricity are available for trailers. Two additional 24x24 paddocks are available without shelter. The trails and water crossings are horse friendly. Some grassy spots allow for temporary fencing away from the building. Guests must provide their own manure fork and muck bucket for manure disposal in the marked area. $25 per horse per night. NO MOTORIZED VEHICLES ON THE TRAILS, NO FIRARMS ON PROPERTY, DOGS CONSIDERED WITH $125 FEE.

Great views especially for bird watching, nice flat and well maintained walking trails. No beach close to the house but the dock is nice, our dog loved the water. Multiple fire pits, plenty of air conditioners, lots of pots, pans, and utensils. We will definitely be coming back again!

Great trails on the property. House was clean and well stocked. Communication was great. Loved the 3 season porch! Unfortunately, the river was very low due to lack of rain so the access was not gradual.

We really appreciated the easy check-in as well as the overall cleanliness of the property. The kitchen was well stocked, the bedrooms all had air- conditioners and extra blankets if needed. The design of the home is perfect for the setting, tree plank coffee tables and country lamps. The property is gorgeous and the Saco really provided fishing. tubing, swimming and boating opportunities. We will be back!

The house was clean and the kitchen was well stocked. The beds were all comfortable and the AC kept it cool during a hot week. It’s a beautiful property with walking trails and a nice dock for kayaks. We kayaked about 20 minutes to the left of the dock and found a great sandy beach area that was perfect for swimming.

Escape by the River

The house was wonderful and very well stocked with even extra outdoor chairs and extension cords. AC works great, especially important if you are bringing a dog. Would recommend staying here!

Beautiful spot right on the Saco. Feels very private, but you’re half an hour or less from multiple town centers. Very pretty spot. We would rent again.

The River House

What a beautiful home! Amazing views, lovely trails! Wish I had a horse to take full advantage of all the property! It wasn’t warm enough to swim but the river is so peaceful! We recommend going to Cornish to look at antiques. Bring a kayak if you’ve got one! Would definitely go back!

Beautiful!

We absolutely loved our stay at The River House. It was everything we have been looking for in a vacation- access to water, the woods, nature, and a cozy house. The house is well appointed and thoughtfully laid out. Beds are comfy and rooms are spacious. Make sure to bring your own toilet paper, paper towels and sponge. The house is situated off a busy road down a long driveway. You can hear the traffic so if you’re looking for silence this isn’t the place for you. It didn’t bother us in the least and the access to the woods & river more than made up for it. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful quiet house right on the river with plenty of private well maintained trails throughout the acreage of the property. Well stocked for all your cooking & grilling needs, just bring food and good people.

Peaceful

The River House was the perfect size for our family of 4! We didn’t even need to use the bedroom downstairs! Having 2 bathrooms was wonderful! The view to the river was beautiful! The trails were well kept and easy to get around. It was a wonderful stay if you are looking to get away from the city! A little far from everything but that was the point! Thank you SO much!

Beautiful property

The home was great but the property was the real winner! We had such a great time letting our dogs run, play, and swim in the Saco. Our kiddo had a blast with all the space to run! The whole family enjoyed playing in the water! The only thing we noticed that was a concern was broken glass scattered along the walk down to the dock. Definitely hope to stay here again next year.
