This is an off the beaten path hideaway location at the end of a private unpaved road. It overlooks the tidal St George river in the heart of Wyeth country. See eagles, ospreys, herons and other waterfowl from the big living room picture window. There is a small private dock where you can sit and watch the lobster boats hauling their traps. The apt has a small but fully functional kitchen with a full sized gas stove and all the pots and pands you need to cook your own meals, including lobsters! The couch in the living room opens into a futon bed. And in the bedroom there is also a loveseat sized couch that opens up to sleep one person. Wifi and tv provided. There is a tidal cove where you can launch a kayak or canoe depending on the stage of the tide. Nearby are the Langlais Sculpture Park and the world-renowned Olson House, the inspiration for Andrew Wyeth's iconic painting "Christina's World. There is also an official geocache on the property!
There is a long wooded driveway to the apartment and a stairway inside the door up to the area with kitchen, bath, bedroom, dining and living space. Big windows look out through trees to the George river. The owner lobster man is accommodating and talkative. We loved it!!

Surprising
Finding accommodation proved a bit surprising. First we missed the street sign as it was somewhat overgrown and then discovered that the access was actually a one lane two track gravel and grass driveway. You definitely have peace and quiet at this location. The owner is very nice and the property is just as described.

Respectable little apartment
If you're looking to get away from it all and feel like you're staying in a tree house near the ocean, this little spot is for you. The location was perfect for us as we were visiting friends in the neighboring town. Since the apartment is above the garage and the windows are big, it felt like we were amongst the treetops. We saw bald eagles both mornings we were there. Bob was friendly and showed us around when we first arrived. The apartment is small and was fine for our two nights. It definitely could have been cleaner and the linens could have been fresher. It would also be nice if the kitchen had more and better pots, pans and dishes. The fridge is small so be aware of that if you're planning on bringing a lot of food. All in all, it was a good stay.
