Sans Souci was a lovely home, but staying there as guests was more than a little disappointing. The front porch had not been swept, and the furniture, looking worn with tables in need of repair/replacement, had not been cleaned off. We got inside and started turning on lights, and discovered that all undercounter lights above the stove were not working. Light above shower in hallway was burned out, as was one of the lights on stairway leading upstairs. We called and someone came out right away - he said that the kitchen bulbs were not burned out. The power had been cut from the power source, so there was nothing he could do. As a result, it was very dark cooking as the overhead lighting was insufficient to allow you to see food on the cooktop well. We walked upstairs to the master bedroom, and found that our view out of the French doors led to a set of doors lying on the patio floor. Upon entering the master bath, we saw that the French doors that had replaced the one out on the patio floor had not even been installed completely. The mfr. decals and instructions were still glued onto the doors, and the trim around them had not even been painted. Once again, we called, and the response was quick.Men came out and secured the discarded door to the railing of the patio. We decided to ride the provided bicycles, only to discover that all 3 had tires that were almost flat. Once again, we called and the response was quick - someone came out and got the tires inflated. The next day, we took trash to the 2 large trash cans outside, only to discover that they were completely full and smelly. We had to take both to the curb on trash day - it was obvious that they had not been emptied in weeks.
The house was very well appointed and we enjoyed the location. However, for the price we paid, we should not have had to experience any of the above mentioned issues. The whole idea of vacation is to relax and not have to do a thing. I hope that the owner and mgmt. company will remedy these types of issues for other guests.
