My husband and I spent 2 weeks( in late Jan./early Feb. 2016), with 2 other couples at Casa Maya. We have been friends for many years and we had previously visited the Troncones area in 2014 and 2015. Casa Maya is a truly beautiful property. This home is well designed and very attractive. Each room has great art work and the craftsmanship in the making of the doors, countertops, backsplashes, roofs, floors, furniture, etc. is really stunning. The beds and pillows are so comfortable and each bedroom is equipped with a ceiling fan and A/C. The infinity pool is always clean and you can sit in the pool and enjoy a view of the ocean at the same time. There is also a lovely small private beach area in front of the common living space that is perfect for viewing the ocean with a margarita as you watch spectacular sunsets.
Christina, the housekeeper and cook, prepared wonderful meals (enjoyed in an open air dining space) and helped us with purchases from the local fruit truck and the fish truck. We appreciated Christina's daily room cleaning and Edud, the maintenance manager, kept the grounds (pool, gorgeous flowers and vegetation) in beautiful shape.
We rented bikes and stand up paddle boards, walked and ran on the beach, enjoyed yoga sessions, visited small restaurants and shops in Troncones and Majahua (and enjoyed pozole at a small restaurant in Buena Vista) and simply relaxed by the pool. The property manager, Claudia, was available in person and by phone and was helpful in making arrangements for grocery purchases, etc. We felt totally safe during our entire stay and the people who live in Troncones and Majahua are friendly and helpful. We did not rent a car and used local taxis which are readily available.
I highly recommend Casa Maya for a vacation get away. The owners of this property designed, created and maintain a lovely Mexican home and we had a terrific time there.
