Cozy Cottage, Great Location

Our first trip to Nags Head. We were flying in from Colorado and meeting family members staying down the road. It was just my husband and I staying at the cottage. It was a nice little place for the two of us. Had all we needed to prepare a meal. The location was great. The only suggestion I would make is to have an iron on site and perhaps a blowdryer. They are small items but it would nice for those who are flying in. We would definitely recommend.

Gosh it smelled

Great location and just the right size. It is good for a couple or three people. Unfortunately, we may have been the first rental for the beginning of the season. The smell of mildew was so strong the first 4 days. My advise is open the windows a week before rentals start coming as the smell was unbearable the first day....in fact we stayed away as long as possible the first night. If it wasn't for the smell, I would definitely rent this again.

Sweet 2BR cottage - SHORT walk to beach.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was quiet and for not being beachfront it sure felt like it. It was less than a 2 minutes walk down the private neighborhood beach lane - toes in sand, the Atlantic Ocean before you! Beautiful beach area. Kitchen had everything we needed and the cottage had a vintage vibe and yes you can hear the ocean from the little screened porch.. Loved it!

Cute house! Great for small family cannot fit more than 1 car for parking .

Great house for small family only. Only room for one car and I’m not sure how it will stay cool in summertime was all the small window units could do to keep up with 80 degrees. It was clean and cozy. Would recommend to someone in a strict budget with small family.

Close to the beach

House was nice but the matresses were dated and uncomfortable other than that we ejoyed the stay. we will visit again.

Just what we wanted

We are practical folks and wanted a practical place to stay. FOUND IT! 1 minute walk to the beach, 3 minutes to any store by car, and all attractions were less than an hour away. The property had everything we needed and was so comfortable. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to all out friends.

Quiet cottage close to the beach

Cozy cottage in a quiet area, with great stargazing sky. You can hear the waves from the screened in porch. We enjoyed preparing meals in the kitchen. Friendly people on the street.

If you want to be close to the beach, this is the place. The home is simple and functional, no frills but it worked for us.

Reeked

The house reeked of musty, wet dog. We had to open windows and constantly spray room deodorizer. The beds were rock hard and the furniture very uncomfortable. Cove Realty was awesome to deal with and was always friendly and helpful.

Great price and location

Enjoyed our vacation here, very reasonable price and convenient location. A couple minute’s walk from the beach and 10-15 minutes from food lion. Having both the shower and hose outside the house was also very helpful. A few minor complaints: air conditioner in the room with two beds was very loud, depending on weather it’s better to use the fan at night and AC during the day. Charter spectrum internet isn’t ideal especially in bad weather (download shows before a storm comes through), but don’t think there’s anything property owners can do about that. There’s a shortage of grounded (3 prong) outlets in the bedrooms, would recommend bringing a power strip if need be. All relatively minor complaints especially with the great price, overall 4.5 stars. Would recommend for families/groups of 4 people who are looking to spend a lot of time on the beach on a budget.

Perfect little getaway for our little family! Central to so many activities!

We really enjoyed our stay at Madden One. There is so much to do. Two minute walk to the beach. Fifteen minute walk to Fishheads at the Outer Banks Fishing Pier (little bit longer if you walk on the beach) with food, drinks and live music. Five minute drive to Bodie Lighthouse. All the shopping and restaurants you could want within minutes of the house. The house was everything we needed it to be. It was clean but was a bit stale smelling when we arrived. After defrosting the freezer the refrigerator worked ok but never really got cold. The air conditioner in the twin bed room needs to be replaced, it’s so loud you can’t use it. The staff at Cove Realty was very nice and responded quickly to our maintenance request, though they could not remedy the air conditioner problem. They informed us the owner would need to replace it. We were happy with our experience and would rent from them again! Can’t wait to return to the Outer Banks!
