Spacious Waterfront Home secluded on 60 ac with Beach and Boat Ramp

Newly redecorated for 2025! Cove House is located in Southern Maryland, on Price Cove, convenient to the St. Mary's River, Potomac River and Chesapeake Bay. The property is rich with outdoor activities, as well as more than ample room for activities indoors; providing a perfect location for multi-family reunions, get-aways, vacations, and events.
An updated old farmhouse retains some of its original 1940s character with original hardwood floors.
The first floor contains a fully equipped kitchen, mud/laundry room with an additional refrigerator, 1/2 bath, formal dining room, open game room, spacious living room, two screened porches with comfortable seating, as well as a small deck off of the kitchen that includes an outdoor gas grill.
The second floor contains 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. Bedroom 1 is a spacious master suite with king bed, and private porch overlooking the airstrip with a view to Price Cove. Bedroom 2 contains 2 queen beds, Roku TV, and reading nook. Bedroom 3 contains a queen bed with Roku TV, and a view to an inlet off of the St. Mary’s river. Bathroom 1, attached to both the master suite and bedroom 2, includes a walk in shower. Bathroom 2 is located near Bedroom 3, and includes a tub/shower combination. All rooms have views of the property as well as deer and other wildlife that frequently graze on the airstrip.

Outdoors provides acres of flat open grassy area. The beach and boat ramp are located approximately 2000 feet from the house. A golf cart is provided, and a dirt drive running the length of the property provides easy and private access. The boat ramp serves small to medium size boats, and provides access to the Potomac River and Chesapeake Bay. The beach area is supplemented with a pier, perfect for fishing and crabbing, as well as a fire pit and chairs for amazing camp fires under the stars. We have 3 kayaks (1 tandem and 2 singles) as well as two stand up paddleboards available for your use to explore the vast waterfront, coves, and lagoons that surround the property. We maintain a porta-potty near the beach and boat ramp to minimize trips back and forth to the house.

Stunning property by a small private beach by the river. Lovely house with beautiful views from the abundance of doors & windows. Well stocked kitchen and toiletries. Comfortable beds , linens and extra blankets. Convenient golf cart to get to & back from the water. Very quiet area . Perfect family vacation.

Great stay!

Enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boards! The golf cart was great to use to take down to the water and back. Comfortable beds and super clean. Rick was very responsive and great yo work with.

This was one of our favorite vacations as a family and a huge part of that was the property and home. It is hard to ask for any more than a beautiful home with plenty of space and a property that allows for beach lounging and kayaking.It was a great trip for our pets, as well, who loved playing in the yard and in the sand. They also kept an eye on the family of deer that regularly walked through the yard.The owner was great as well, responding to messages quickly and there were no issues checking in or checking out. Doesn't get much better than this rental experience.

Property was exactly as advertised. Charming Farmhouse with plenty of space situated on a large property with a private beach. We even enjoyed some of the local restaurants, Captain Pat's Seafood and Tacos Haciendas.

My husband and I took our boys ten and twelve over easter break. The property was very private. The expansive views of the yard looking out to the bay we're beautiful. The house was really clean and nicely decorated . The master bedroom had great views and the bed was amazing. It might be to buy the mattress! We were unable to put our boat in. Due to the water levels and the sludge. But we found a boat launch only ten minutes away. All in all, if you want a very relaxing vacation, this is it. Also local restaurants for great!

3rd time coming

This was our third trip to the Cove house in Drayden. The owner has been very gracious with us and has really made my family feel very at home at what is becoming an annual vacation spot for us. My family loves to play at the beach and enjoy the kayaks on the water. This time we also were watching seagulls dive and catch their supper. We had a BBQ supper by the water and watched the sun set. The property is well maintained and the house is in very good condition. The golf cart to get to the beach and back is a very nice perk.

Perfect Vacation!

My family and I came for a 2 day stay to the Cove house and everything was marvelous. We met the owners as we showed up about an hour early and they graciously invited us in. They were very friendly the entire time and made sure we had everything we needed (even offering to chop extra firewood). The house is in very good condition and the A/C worked great even on 90+ degree days in humid southern Maryland. The high point is the private beach. My kids got a chance to to play in the sand and enjoy the sun undisturbed (we did not meet another person in that entire area) and they could make as much noise as they wanted. We went kayaking in a small inlet off the St. Mary's river which all of my children enjoyed. My 3 year old gave us a great summery of our vacation once we got back home, "When can we go back to Mr. Watt's house again?" My wife and I are already tying to plan another trip back.

Great Place for Family Time

We had an excellent time at the Cove House. When our kids were asked, they said, "This was a great trip!". The adults feel the same way. It was a very comfortable environment and it felt like home. Rick, the owner, put out kayaks, paddles, and crab pots for us to use. He even flew his plane overhead and landed in the water nearby. That was one of our biggest thrills of the week! The house is close to some nice points of interest: Calvert Cliffs, St. Mary's City, Point Lookout. The beds were very comfortable. We were sad to leave and would really enjoy returning in the future. With the above said, it seems that this is a newer listing. The owner, Rick, seems to really be working to make an excellent experience for his future guests. So, we let him know about some issues we encountered and I believe he is going to improve upon them: Internet speed, Shower leaking, ants in bathroom, dishwasher glitchy, check in was a little confusing because of two lockboxes. Lastly, it bothered us that there was a porta-potty in the middle of our distant view. It seems the porta-potty could easily be moved left or right so that it cannot be seen from the house. There was also an open garage and hangar that had a variety of old, worn-out, rusty tools, toys, and other outdoor equipment. The yard was so big, the owner was so nice, and the house was so unique that none of this diminished our good times and we think Rick is planning on fixing those issue! The Cove House was such a unique and special place for our family. We would really like to return again! If I was you, I would give it a shot!

No pictures or description can actually give you the peace and tranquility that this place provides!! We LOVED the privacy and being avle to walk (or ride) to rhe private beach and let our dogs explore and swim. We even crabbed for the first time and caught 2 crabs in no time. HIGHLY recommend

We stayed at the Cove house for 5 nights and used the property as our wedding venue! We had an amazing stay, and it was perfect for our wedding. We received so many compliments on how great of a venue it was and how beautiful the property was. The house was perfect, super cute and worked great for getting ready photos. The master bedroom is beautiful. The view of the water is great to wake up to and the screened in porches were great for morning coffee. The property was well kept and looked just like the pictures. We loved enjoying the paddle boards and kayaks. Our only regret was not booking it for more days! Rick was super quick to respond and super helpful! 10/10 recommend this stay!

This large, clean, well maintained house provides plenty of room. The two livingrooms were open enough and large enough for us to play cornhole indoors on one rainy afternoon. There were also enough board games to play. We spent most of our time down at the sandy beach crabbing, swimming, kyaking and diving for oysters. In the evenings there were plenty of screened porches and a large open porch to play games. We also had bonfires down at the beach and watched the deer graze. The golf cart was useful for transporting food and beverages to the beach. If you like the outdoors and water sports during the day and the comforts of a modern home at night this the vacation rental for that.

A Piece of Heaven

A wonderful week in a wonderful home. Exactly as advertised and had everything we needed. The golf cart was super helpful. The walk to the water is flat and only about a ten minute or less walk. Saw a ton of wildlife including deer, red fox and an otter. And the kitties that roam around are adorable! There were cardinals everywhere! Highly recommend this home! Thank you so much for sharing your large, comfortable, delighted home.

My family and I moved to Southern Maryland in 2005 and have made St. Mary's our home. We love our community and are very active in giving back. I coach soccer at one of our local High Schools and serve as president for the local soccer club and my wife is an EMT with the local rescue squad. St. Mary's county is warm and welcoming with lots to explore.

Whether its the private runway to fly in and out of, the private boat ramp, the 50 acres of woods to explore, large fields to run around and play, the abundant wildlife or the river to fish and crab and the 3 beaches to swim and just soak up the sun, Cherryfield truly has it all. The house has so much character and history and has tons of room to spread out and relax. The 3 screened porches provide a place for everyone to get away.
