This is a gem of a place to stay on Maui. It’s steps from the beach and shopping, condo is nicely furnished, clean, comfortable bed, well equipped kitchen, roomy balcony - perfect for two people. We especially appreciated, and used, all the beach equipment - boogie boards, nice umbrellas, snorkeling gear, chairs, pool toys. Owner was prompt and easy to communicate with. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others.

Great condo. Very well equipped kitchen.Convenient to laundry facilities. Big comfy bed. The only negative is not with the unit, but the noise from adjacent Whaler’s Village businesses. It drove us inside at times during the day. Since we were there during a rainy week we spent more time than planned in the condo.

Overall, the place itself was good, but the stay ended up disappointing. The biggest issue was the lanai — it’s right next to industrial air‑conditioning units and a loading dock, so the noise is constant. Trucks start early, the AC drones all day, and it’s loud enough that you hear it inside the condo as well. The small outdoor table also sits too low to enjoy the view, so between the noise and the setup, the lanai really wasn’t usable.The resort is beautiful and close to everything, but that also means it’s a busier, louder area. Inside the condo, everything you needed was there. It was comfortable overall, and the air‑conditioning worked fine — just loud. Underground parking was a plus.I did request a refund since the lanai wasn’t enjoyable at all, but the owner denied it. I was hoping for a quiet Oceanview stay, so this was a letdown. I wouldn’t book this particular unit again.

ugh! We have over 100 five star reviews and this guest now gives us our lowest rating. Is it the condo or is it her? It's interesting that she included two pictures of the view. Our VRBO pictures include four that show the same thing- vegetation/trees in front of the lanai and a view of the ocean to the right. Nowhere is this condo advertised as ocean view. And, BTW, our condo is one of the lowest priced condos (if not the lowest) at the Whaler. The condo does face Whaler's VIllage and there is some noise. A few (three or four) trucks come in in the morning- not on weekends and rarely later in the day. And you can hear AC, but not with the sliding doors shut. If you read the reviews, very few (less than five?) mention the noise. It's all about expectations. Obviously, this guest did not look at our pictures or read reviews- which, of course everyone should do when renting a VRBO unit. She is simply angry that the lowest price condo wasn't the same as an oceanfront condo that might cost over twice as much. Perhaps she should blame herself and not leave a poor review.

When we arrived there was a power outage, as soon as I landed at the airport I received a text from the host asking when I was arriving and explained about power outage. Explained the unit was cleaned and they had left a flashlight in the unit in case the power was still out when we arrived. After checking in the power was on and found hand written notes about the unit, nice touch. We had a great stay and would recommend to anyone wanting to stay on Kaanapali Beach.

Birthday / Anniversary Trip

Had a great time with my husband. It was perfect being next to Whalers Village. Free parking was a plus. Loved all the amenities, full kitchen, washer/dryer, beach items, hair dryer and iron. Thank you Doug for your quick responses. We would definitely love to stay again.

Perfect Get Away

Great little place to stay. Location is a 10, the process to book was easy, unit was clean, kitchen was stocked with dishes etc, shower had good water pressure/hot water, bed was very comfortable, everything you need is right there, beach chairs, snorkeling gear etc. Complimentary laundry just outside the entryway. Looking forward to coming back - Thank you for a great stay!

A must stay!

Beautiful condo that is stocked with everything you could possibly need!! The Whaler is beautiful and staff are very friendly and helpful. They helped us book a dinner cruise that was spectacular!! The location is amazing. Dinner, shopping and the beach right out the door of the hotel. Amazing time !! Loved every minute of our trip!

Great place

Condo was clean, up to date and comfortable. Well stocked with what we needed for our stay such as a sun umbrella (resort charges $45.00 per day to rent one) swim noodles and beach chairs. Location is perfect very short walk to the beach. Resort staff friendly and helpful.

Our stay here at the Whaler’s was our best stay in Maui the staff here are so accommodating friendly and helpful. The condo is perfect location and was stocked with everything you might need! I can honestly say Doug has been very friendly and easy to work with!! Our trip/stay here was totally relaxing 😎

Whaler condo studio apt

The property is on one of the best beaches in Maui. The studio is nice and has a partial view of the ocean. There is a lot to do and see close by. I highly recommend a stay. You will have a wonderful experience.

Wow. This property was amazing. For a VRBO, it had everything you need for a comfortable beach vacation. The host thought of it all, from beach chairs, snorkel gear, bag coolers, and even a Brita water filter for the room. The kitchenette had everything you need. There was even tide pods to use. Communication with the host was incredibly easy as was the check in process. As for The Whaler itself, you are minutes away from The Whaler Village with a plethora of food options and fun beach bars. I would recommend this VRBO to anyone looking for a relaxing Maui getaway. We will definitely be back.

The location of the Whaler cannot be beat. The beaches in front of the property are awesome for snorkeling. There are excellent restaurants within walking distance eliminating the need to drive. The sunset sailboats pick you up right in front of the property as well. The unit itself had everything you need to enjoy your stay. Beach chairs, snorkeling gear, cooler, and an umbrella. This is the first time I stayed in this unit but the third time I have stayed at the whaler. Great unit and property.

Next to Whaler's Village, fronting Kaanapali beach (one of the nicest beaches in the world).

Privacy, privacy, privacy.
If you look at the pictures, you'll notice that our condo does not face the central courtyard- no one looks directly into the unit. You can leave the drapes and slider open.
