Great Place to Stay!

Easy to work with the owners who tried to accommodate whatever was needed. The house has a quiet location on the lake with a great view. Plenty of room inside to spread out. Perhaps the most well stocked house we have ever stayed in. The entire area is very laid back and makes for a very enjoyable stay.

Everything about the property matched the description. It was great to have a large enough space for 9, and having an accessible master bedroom on the main floor was perfect for the grandparents.

Awesome home with lots of space for our family. Great back yard and beach on the lake. Shallow water off beach for young kids to play. Home had everything we needed for our stay. nice bonus of 2 kayaks and a paddle boat to use on the lake. good fishing 20 yards it the lake. highly recommend this home for a family vacation

The property was perfectly suited for our three-generation family stay. Being right on the water was nice and having a yard to enjoy was a valuable benefit. The house was outfitted nicely and the kitchen area made meal preparation effortless. The family great room was very spacious. Dining area could use more capacity, but weather allowed us to utilize outside dining option. Beds and bedding were comfortable, especially the master. Parking was plentiful but tricky depending on who needed to get out, when. All in all, it was an excellent stay. Would definitely return.

Great place for a family get away

Plenty of space to spread out, there were 11 of us and it still felt huge. Plenty of parking, great swimming, and extremely well stocked house (housewares, dishes, towels, paper goods, spices, etc). Would definitely rent there again

Great property!

We had a great experience working with the owners to arrange for an earlier check in. The property was exactly as stated on the listing. Plenty of room for our group of 12 and kitchen was just what we needed to cook up breakfast and dinner. Would definitely stay again.

Great Family Vacation

The house and grounds were beautiful.. We were right on the lake and although it was too cold to swim we got to watch the water and waves. The house was elegantly furnished with fine quality bedding and towels. The kitchen had everything we could want. Most of all, the owners were very responsive to any requests we had. I would highly recommend this house for a summer vacation.

This property was perfect for families- especially traveling with preteen/teenage kids. Everyone had their own bedroom and bathroom. Property was extremely clean and well maintained. Kitchen was very well stocked. We prepared a Thanksgiving meal and had everything we needed!

What a great trip! This house was one of the best places I’ve booked on Vrbo. The home had everything you needed for your stay. The host was very quick to respond and accommodating. The home had plenty of space with 5 bedrooms and 4 1/2 baths. Close to shopping, bars and restaurants. I highly recommend 🤗

A Little Piece of Heaven

Our week stay was so enjoyable with our family at this special place. It was way beyond our expectations.(10 stars). The house is beautiful and a lot of space so everyone - sons, spouses, and grandkids didn't feel crowded. The grounds and neighborhood is well kept and sooo quiet and peaceful. Matt and Kathy were awesome as our hosts. Matt was so kind with making sure everything was perfect. We definitely will go back - and we can't wait ! :)

This place is PERFECT!

This place has everything, plus more! It was perfect for a week long vacation with our family of 9. It’s exactly as listed. The kitchen is well equipped with anything you could possibly need, including spices, paper products & cleaning supplies. It has all the laundry supplies, toilet paper, Kleenex and paper towel you’ll need while there. The owners are wonderful and very responsive if you have any questions. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay on Houghton Lake.

Abolutely Perfect!

This property was everything and more. From the first look and through checkout. Super clean, fully stocked, even a little in the fridge. Communication with the owners was at a level I've never experienced before. The trip was a success and we even had some ice time. 5 Stars isnt enough. Hope to see how much fun the lake is in the summer. Thank you Matt and Kathy.

AMAZING Lake house

I dont know where to begin. This house was everything and more than we could have asked for. The house was so open and roomy. There was 12 of us staying there and had company coming and going with as many as 20+ people there at once. Never once did we feel we were short on space. They had everything you could imagine available in the kitchen..we cooked some amazing meals. We had our boats there, everyone played in the water. My husband and I walked halfway across the lake before it got deep. The kayak and pedal boat were so much fun and quite the workout we also had 2 paddle boards. Cant tell you how many games of corn hole were played, ladder golf, bocces ball. So many games of cribbage was played. The campfires in the evenings with smores were amazing. Our family made so many GREAT memories this week. It has been so many years since all the family has been together in one place for more than just a couple hours. The only thing i can say we didnt care for was the brisk/cold walk through the water at 6 AM to the mooring ball to get the boat. We will definitely return. Matt was always available if i had a question. He was so easy to work with. Thank you so much for sharing your house with us!

Fabulous Family Vacation

Our family of 10 adults and one child stayed at this beautiful property for a week. The house layout is perfect for a large family. There were enough beds for everyone and everyone said their beds were comfortable. The bedrooms were quiet (I could not hear others when they were up). There is a nice breeze that blew thru the house this week, keeping everyone comfortable, we did use the A/C units the first night, when it was warmer. The kitchen is amazingly stocked with everything we needed and the pots and pans were in great condition (not always the case in other VRBOs). Plenty of refrigerator/freezer space with the two in the garage. We appreciated all the towels you provide. The yard was perfect for yard games (we gave your corn hole game a lot of use) and it was enough space for the 2 1/2 y/o to play. The beach is not sandy for children to play and it is rocky for the first 10 feet (water shoes were very helpful). After the first 10 feet the sand is soft and the water was clean and warm. We spent quite a bit of time in the water. We rented a pontoon boat for the week, the men used it for fishing and we took advantage of one of the restaurants on the lake and took the pontoon to that, so much fun. We all enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boat, even the toddler thought they were fun to go for rides in. I can not say one negative thing about our stay. Matt was an awesome host, very quick to respond to my texts/calls. I would highly recommend & hope to return in the future.

Adult Couples Getaway Weekend

The house was clean, very well appointed and was well suited to our group of five couples. This was to be a fishing weekend for the guys and relaxing weekend for the girls, however as Michigan Winter/Springs go you can never be quite sure. We did find safe ice and did find some fish also. The girls did find the relaxing to their satisfaction. The owner has pretty much thought of everything you will need to make your stay an enjoyable and memorable stay. From a well stocked kitchen, including blender, coffee maker, electric griddle, fridge with ice maker and so on, we tried everything and were very satisfied. He even has a box of misc. items in the master bedroom storeroom with items you may need but may have forgotten, sunscreen, band aides even a USB charger if you forgot that. There are plenty of nice towels for each of the bathroom and plenty of hot water, no cold showers amongst the group. One note: the master bedroom and bathroom do not appear to have any direct heat source other than the heat which comes in from the main house. This was not a problem for us as we have a couple that prefers cooler temps. But the room does have infrared space heaters in the bedroom and bathroom, we used the one in the bathroom and it heated it up nicely in there. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, Matt was great to work with, always getting back to our requests or questions in a short time. He did his best to make sure we had a great getaway. We will definitely be coming back for another visit hopefully mother nature will work as hard as Matt to make sure our time there is memorable.

Great Girlfriends Getaway

Perfect for families of all ages

The home was as beautiful inside and out as was shown in the pictures. The house was equipped with everything we needed for our stay and was the cleanest home we have rented. The views of the lake were gorgeous especially at sunset. Matt responded to any of our questions in a very timely manner. The check in process was very easy. We would definitely come back with our family.

We needed to be in the area for the week due to a business trip. This property was much more cozy and welcoming than getting separate rooms at a hotel!

Great space to entertain!

Loved the space and the room for multiple couple's. The view of the lake was very relaxing and the kitchen provided ample room for cooking.
