A solid 7/10. We were in town for a funeral and booked this house so my in-laws could stay with all of their grandchildren. This house is beautifully decorated and has so much charm and I certainly do not want to discourage anyone from enjoying it. We arrived a day earlier than everyone so that they could get there before the check-in time, since we were headed to the viewing that evening… and I’m really glad we did. The house did not appear to have been cleaned between stays, vacuuming, showers, floors, etc. We ordered a delivery of cleaning supplies and spent the entire first night cleaning the majority of spaces. The host had said someone would come that night but they hadn’t showed up by 9:15 and we had children to put to bed. The cleaning person did come the next day for a few hours to clean the other two bathrooms. It certainly wasn’t ideal but we were thankful that we didn’t also have to clean the other two bathrooms ourselves. If the house had been properly cleaned before we arrived and/or if we had even been offered to be reimbursed for the cleaning supplies we purchased, my review would have had a full five stars because the house truly is special.
