Beautiful Vibes in a Beautiful Home

The accommodations were breathtaking and beautifully furnished. My family of 4 had a blast playing card and games while observing the ocean view. Thank you to the host for the beautiful vacation.

The view was great, but the room was no cleaned prior to check in. It smelled because of the trash that sat out for however long. The maid did come by but it was hard to get ready for dinner while her and her kid were there.

Bed bugs!

The condo itself was okay-the property is run down and in need of major updating but the condo was cute. The fridge smelled of fish and there was black sludge in the freezer. But the main issue was the bedroom had bed bugs!! We got devoured for two nights! Didn’t get welts until the ride home and the next day I called for them to check and sure enough they had bed bugs.

Run-Down :(

I want to start out by saying that the inside of the condo is as listed. The pictures are accurate and the owner is responsive. Unfortunately, the building itself is in horrible shape. It’s not just that it’s dated, it’s in rough shape and for lack of a better word, it feels trashy. The stairs, hallways, etc are all concrete, smelled bad, trash cans overflowing and it felt more like a cheap apartment building rather than a vacation condo. The people I saw seemed to live there rather than vacationing there. The area that the condo is in is also in rough shape. It feels deserted and the restaurants and shops around it aren’t very appealing. I was hoping to be able to take walks in the morning down the beach but this beach is not one I would want to walk down. The area just felt dead. We spent the majority of our time driving down to Padre Island which is a much nicer part of Corpus Christi. If I had to do it again, I would most definitely stay in that area. The beaches are way nicer and at least there feels like there is some life down there. Overall I don’t think that Corpus is the best vacation spot, there are many places I would choose over it. Again, in reviewing the actual condo it’s a shame that this condo has to be in this location because the actual condo is decent. It’s just that the building and the area it’s in are not a place I would choose to go to again. I chose this place because the price was good but I didn’t do enough research into the location and I regret that. You get what you pay for.

HORRIBLE PLACE!!

I will NEVER stay again or recommend any of these condos in Villa Del Sol. The first place they put us in was a dump!! Everything was old & some things didn't work like the AC and bathroom switch. It wasn't very clean. We found a big dead bug & some dried blueberries behind the folding kitchen table. There were hairs around the bathroom. There's mold/mildew all around the bldgs. We were moved to another condo & it was decorated nice w/ more up-to-date things but there still with it. The microwave was so low beneath the stove I had to kneel to get into it. It took me about 10 minutes to figure out how to heat something up! I couldn't find a manual on how to operate the thing. I'm not usually technically challenged either. The walls were very thin, I could hear people talking & getting in/out of bed in the middle of the night. There was a bright light outside in the hallway that couldn't be turned off that shined into our bedroom. So our room was not dark. They need to put up black out curtains. The second morning we were woken up early(7:30-8) by some kind of banging, sounded next door. I think they were remodeling. We had to hunt around the other 3 buildings for a cart for our luggage, bins etc. I went to the front desk & asked the man if he could help us find one. He said a lot of people keep them in their rooms & he couldn't do anything; pretty much blew me off! REALLY??? I finally found a cart in a different bldg. which I had to bring over in the rain! So they had ONE cart for all 3 bldgs. They should figure out a way for people to check them in & out. If they're not brought back, then charge them!! Also, you have to pay $15 for a parking pass no matter how long you're there. we were there 2 nights! I think that's outrageous!! I should've read google reviews before renting here. This is our first bad experience w/ renting a place through Homeaway. I'm glad we've had other good experiences b/c if we didn't, it would've turned me against renting in the future. Perfect location, private beach

We were thrilled with our stay! The location was perfect, amazing views, close to almost everything! Our condo had all the amenities needed for a cozy vacation, even though the one we were in could use some updates and repairs, it was more than comfortable. It has a private beach and we probably didn't see more than 10-15 people the whole time we were on the beach, and a couple of the days we only saw 1 or 2. We loved it!!! They are doing some remodeling on the property since the huge snow storm in February had made some of the exterior walls sink a little (approx 12-15% slope) and needs attention. We thought they would be taking a break during the weekend hours, but they didn't. Sawing, drilling and hammering throughout the day, but we didn't stay in the room long during the daylight hours, so no big deal.

Great view!

The unit was more run down than in the pictures but it was very clean. The view was exactly as promised but the balcony is very sloped which is a little unsettling. While I was largely pleased with the unit, the property it was located at was very run down and dirty. If you’re easy going, adaptable, and want a great view for not a lot of money, this is for you. If you’re traveling with people who are pickier about beds (the bunk beds are very narrow with very thin mattresses) or more upscale atmosphere, you’re going to want to shell out for somewhere nicer. I enjoyed my stay but I’m going to be really honest and say it was as nice as I could hope for in my budget and all that implies.

Great view!

I booked this condo because I wanted to spend a week on a balcony listening to the waves and that’s what I did. However, the unit was not in the same condition as the photos would suggest. The balcony made me feel like I was about to fall off of the building because of the significant slope and had cracks in the plaster. I have been to rental homes that were better stocked (salt, pepper, dish liquid, etc.). When the listing says it will sleep 5, it means there is a queen bed, a pull out couch, and some very narrow bunk beds with a very thin mattress on it. If you’re traveling with kids or adults with low standards, you’re going to be fine. Honestly, the biggest problem I had was with the property, not the unit itself. The unit is about what I would expect to get for the price and the view. The property is in bad shape. The elevator, when it’s working, looks run down. The whole property looks like it needs repairs or that the things that were repaired were done very poorly. Additionally, it’s just laid out weird. It’s a long building with an elevator only at one end. Some of the openings to the elevators are narrow or handicapped ramps in unusual places. The owners can’t do much about any of that but it’s something people should know before they book. Honestly, knowing what I know now, I would probably still book this room because the view and access to the beach and the price all met at the right place for me.

Cute Condo in Delapidated Complex

Condo was very small, but cute. Like other reviews, the table veneer is peeling, curtain rod duck taped, and couch not very comfy. Condo was ok enough to sleep and shower, but not someplace to really relax in. Location was perfect; however, the entire complex extremely run down to the point it was borderline unsafe. Balcony felt like it was about to give way, everything was rotting or rusted. The bathtub felt like it was about to go through the floor. Definitely not the type of place of have ever booked through VRBO.

Sitting on the deck watching the ocean was wonderful!

The condo was comfortable and nice, we loved sitting on the deck or couch watching the ocean. The kitchen had the tools we needed and plenty of towels. The building left something to be desired, but more an HOA issue that an owner issue - Once you were in the condo it didn’t matter. The most frustrating thing for me is that we had to go to a different property managers site after booking. I trust VRBO with my payment information, I didn’t know this other site that completed the second payment. Which made me uncomfortable.

Wonderful trip

The unit was wonderful. The beds were comfy. The unit was clean. The beach view was great! The beach water wasn’t super clear, but it a short drive to padre island. The owner communicated wonderfully. We will be back!

weekend getaway

The picture of this condo's living room was different from the actual room and misrepresented the condo. When selecting a place a lot has to do with what the pictures of the place look like. The couch that was there was uncomfortable. The curtain rod in the living room was broken and taped together. The table was warped and peeling. Also, before our trip, I tried contacting the management about a simple question I had but never able to reach anyone. Not the greatest. Especially for the price your asking.

Great place to stay

Property is in a great location right on the beach which was super convenient. Owner was very responsive, we had a couple of things come up but she was able to make them right. My kids and I really enjoyed feeding the seagulls from the balcony. I would definitely stay here again.

Beach front

We loved waking up to the sunrise over the water! The condo has a beautiful view. We weren’t crazy about this end of town. All of the buildings here, including this condo complex, are pretty run down, but I think it’s pretty normal for being right on the ocean front. There is super easy beach access, and a nice sidewalk for walks along the beach.

Bed not worthy of a toddler

The entire place is run down. Parts of the building are falling apart. Our room faced the bay. So that was the only good thing. The bed was stiff as a board, I wouldn’t even cheap out on my kids mattress like that. After one night my back was out. I emailed the owner and by Wednesday heard back that a foam topper was hidden in couch. We had already moved to the couch so adding this made the last night better. We almost left a day early. The place appeared clean. But the last night we were there we saw roaches. As I checked out I told the woman who checked us in and she didn’t even care. The beach is that, a beach on the bay with sand brought in. The complex itself is private but the beach is not. We saw homeless people walking up and down. So we used this beach once and only once. The only good thing about this trip is we explored. Mustang Island is ocean front wonderful sand and is 30 minutes further and on the safer side of town. We’ll be taking the kids there next yr. This was a trip to celebrate our 13 yr anniversary. It wasn’t what we thought but I’m glad we got up and searched for better!

Great beach

Cute decor and was as represented in posting. The beach is well maintained and we enjoyed it immensely. The owner is very attentive and we did have to call her a few times. Unit was clean but housekeepers are lacking in some areas- shower curtain was removed I assume for cleaning but they didn't put a new one up, toilet paper holder broken and part of it missing. They should communicate better with the owner who immediately remedied the situations when we notified her. Can't beat the oceanfront view but on 3 occasions smelled heavy marijuana. Also , it is gated , however, we found a vagrant smoking in the stairwell and this was reported to the front office. They said they would tell security who was due to come in in 20 minutes.

Good news: Excellent view, Good location. Not so good: Real picture doesn’t match site description, apartment looks older, you have to use stairs to take heavy luggage on the 3d floor, apartment wasn’t cleaned after previous guests at all (three very nice ladies cleaned it in 1,5 hours and I got my cleaning fee back)

25th Anniversary trip

This condo is perfect for a couple! We loved the view! It does not disappoint!! The owners Rhea was precious! I absolutely recommend this place and know for a fact we WILL be back! The beach was so peaceful and the people were so friendly! Again I would like to keep this a secret for fear of over crowding but I feel like I need to share the love and fun we had!

Great Ocean View!

The View was perfect and just what we were looking for. The condo was clean and just as pictured. The host was quick to respond to text messages. My only complaint was that the elevator was not working and the condo was on the third floor. When we checked in, he said it would be fixed by the next day, but it was broken the entire stay. It was pretty rough going up that many flights of stairs with luggage, groceries for the week, and bicycles up and down every day. Luckily we are in pretty good shape, but it would have been really tough to impossible for anyone with a health condition, disability, small children, or elderly. Not to mention if there was a fire. Hopefully they have it fixed for the next guests. Other than that, I highly recommend and would stay here again.

So close to the beach!

This condo was exactly what we were looking for. It's right on the beach with really easy access to the beach. The staff was super friendly. And all the major attractions are right there too. The condo is quite a bit smaller than how the pictures make it look, but it was still great!
