Nice home, great location, lots to do in Sarasota

There is a charming element to this older home in a deed-restricted area of Sarasota. Location is near stores, businesses, gyms, restaurants, golf courses, Siesta Key Beach, bike trails, churches, etc.. Biking is possible to many of these locations, and the area is conducive to an evening walk through the neighborhood. The home is graced by the owner's artwork and the enclosed front porch is a great place to work on your computer, read, watch passers-by, etc.. If you appreciate the charm of an older home and want to be centrally located to all that Sarasota offers, you'll enjoy your stay at this home.

Very nice place

The decor of the house is basically original art by one of the owners. This sets off the artistic approach of the property. This is a Florida retirement house with 2 bedrooms and large closets. The neighborhood is quiet with a church across the street. Many restaurants are located down Gulfgate Drive about a mile away. They should be checked out as several of them are very good.

The property was really nice. The neighborhood was very nice and quiet

It is very convenitent to everything. The stores, the restaurants and the beach was just a couple of miles away. You can walk to the nice library.

Wonderful Home for our Escape from Winter

Rented the "Old Florida Villa" for three months and couldn't have been happier. House was in great shape, and contained everything that one would need for an extended stay. Just the right amount of space for two people, with that extra bedroom for guests who seem to want to visit you when you are in Florida. When we did have some questions, the owners were immediately responsive. The location was excellent for us. Wonderful quieter neighborhood, just down the street from the Gulfgate library. Very easy access (including walking) to many stores and restaurants. Also Costco and the Sarasota Square Mall down the street, and close to the YMCA which we joined for the time we were there. We were close to the beaches of Siesta Key and and not far from Casey Key and Venice which also have nice beaches. The house is about 20 minutes from Downtown, a convenient drive to get to such things as the Florida Studio Theater and the Opera House. We would certainly rent this home again and would recommend it to anyone who was looking for a place to spend some time in Sarasota. Actually I must add that my wife and I liked it so much that we have decided to move to Sarasota!! Indeed, we will be renting another house close by.

Carole Lang, Artist, who now lives in Lake Lure, NC, lived in Sarasota, FL for over 20 years, while raising three children and then enjoying retirement there, with her husband. She and her daughter, Beth, Special Education Teacher in Asheville, NC, own and rent this villa, and enjoy it themselves as much as possible. NOTE: Our calendar does not reflect all of our rentals. Availability is very likely, so feel free to contact us about this.

Our villa sits on a quiet street, in a peaceful setting, within walking distance of Sarasota's beautiful new library. OUR HOMEOWNERS policy only lets us rent twice a year, that is why you do not see lots of action on the calendar. The people who have stayed the last few January through March have all told us how much they like our place. Some guest have come again the next year and our last guest liked it so much they decided to move to Sarasota! We offer two bicycles for you to use while you are there. The Legacy Trail, where you can ride bikes, walk, etc. is within a mile. This is a great trail through Florida's natural habitat, that goes all the way to the Venice Train Station. A mile in the other directions are many cute shops that will suit your needs for necessity (grocery, clothing, household), as well as pleasure (souveniers/beach supplies) and dining. World Famous, Siesta Key beach, is within biking distance for some - 2.5 miles (sidewalks all the way there).
