I had an incredible time staying at Tranquility Base. The apartment was meticulously clean, and the kitchen was well stocked. It wasn’t sure what to expect from the photos however, I was pleasantly surprised when I saw how close the house was to the water. It was absolutely beautiful. My dog, and I especially enjoyed our daily walks around the 1 mile loop on the private road through a beautiful pine forest, with glimpses of the St. George River peeking through the trees. My goal with this trip was to get away from civilization and find peace and quiet, and I was not disappointed. The steps to the apartment are something to consider if you have any issues with stairs as they are fairly steep. If you’re looking for a place to stay, that’s very private and off the beaten path look no further. When I stayed there, no one was in the house next-door and I barely saw any of the neighbors out and about the entire week. The views were absolutely beautiful of the water, and we enjoyed just sitting in the Adirondack chairs, watching the tide come in and out.We enjoyed dinner at McLoons lobster shack on Spruce Head Island, and a takeout dinner from Claws in Rockland. We also visited Owls Head, State Park and lighthouse, as well as the Owls Head general store and the Tenants Harbor General store. We took day trips to Camden and Castine as well, and visited Pemaquid lighthouse on our way home.Stephanie, our host, was very responsive and welcoming. Would absolutely book again!
