We enjoyed our stay. The apartment was simple, clean, and comfortable. The neighborhood felt safe, and it was easy to call Uber for rides. LIRR access was also convenient, which made traveling to New York City and Stony Brook very manageable. The highlight was the beautiful backyard, which made the place feel relaxing.

Summer 2025

Overall clean space and super easy check in/out. Location is on a quiet street/neighborhood which is nice. Not full a/c in rooms but had two floor fans; was hot in summertime but manageable for a short stay. Had a nice deadbolt on door to lock it. Awkward entrance as you go through the back of the house and all the way around the property, but it isn't terrible. A bit of a dead zone for Verizon but T-mobile was OK; Wi-Fi was available which was needed. Good for easy overnight stay and cheaper compared to hotels in the area.

Wish we could say better things

We went to check in around 5pm since check in was at 4. Luckily we were able to leave our kids with family while we went to check out the place and unload our luggage. We arrived and parked in the street like we were told and walked to the back around the whole yard on an unfinished path. We had to step over a large roof drain pipe to get to the basement door which was not very safe. We went inside turned on the lights and proceeded to check the rooms to find the floors filthy, crumbs were all over every chair and couch. the sheets for the twin mattress looked like they had a white stain in the center along with white fuzz/animal hair. There was a human hair in the bigger bed on the sheets. The toilet had feces stuck along the inside and we even tried to clean it but it wouldn’t come off. The lights in the bathroom flickered and the shower was dirty. The Kitchen lights never got bright and we made the decision it wasn’t safe for us to bring our kids there. We ultimately left and had to make other last minute arrangements for our stay in NY.
