Step into a professionally designed, Frank Lloyd Wright–inspired retreat nestled in the quiet elegance of North Portal Estates. This 3,500-square-foot home set on a 9,000-square-foot lot offers rare space, privacy, and elevated everyday living just minutes from the heart of Washington, DC.

The home features a seasonal private heated pool (late May–early September), lush garden surroundings, and multiple outdoor patios ideal for relaxing or entertaining. Inside, a light-filled double-height great room anchors the home, complemented by a spacious dining area and a fully stocked kitchen equipped with premium cookware and Ninja appliances, well suited for guests who enjoy cooking at home.

Every detail is intentional. Guests will find hotel-quality sheets, modern waffle bath towels made from 100% natural cotton with waffle weave, and organic spa-grade toiletries throughout the bathrooms. Furnishings are thoughtfully curated to balance comfort, functionality, and design.

The home includes three bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms, along with a dedicated private office that features a sleeper-style sofa suitable for one additional guest. The lower level offers added flexibility with an L-shaped sectional, a sofa bed with memory foam mattress, TV lounge, laundry, and a separate entrance making the home especially well-suited for extended stays.

A private in-home gym is available, equipped for both cardio and strength training. Amenities include a treadmill, Peloton bike, squat rack with barbell and plates, adjustable bench, cable machine, free weights, stability balls, stretching equipment, and wall mirrors.

Perfectly located for both nature lovers and city explorers, the home sits steps from Rock Creek Park’s trails and green space, while remaining highly connected. An oasis in D.C. is exactly what this home is. All amenities have been thought of and provided for. Step into the backyard and you'll feel like you've been transported to a high-end resort hotel with its two patios, lounging areas and heated swimming pool. Very clean and modern, and host Paola provided excellent communication, was very helpful and accommodating with our two dogs. Lots of restaurants and stores in the vicinity, with Rock Creek Park a stone's throw away. Highly recommended, 10 out of 10, and look forward to returning.

Beautiful property

Wonderful spacious and modern family friendly home in tucked away neighborhood - perfect for our extended family visit to DC. Paola was wonderful and quick to respond to our needs. The house came well appointed with thoughtful additions, like plenty of paper towels! Would recommend.

Great Vacation House

This beautiful house was exactly as described in the listing. The decor throughout was lovely and the beds were very comfortable. We felt so welcome and comfortable during our stay. The homeowner made sure the kitchen had all the appliances, cookware, glassware, utensils, etc. needed to prepare and enjoy our meals. Plus we were close to many local DC attractions. My family and I especially enjoyed the backyard pool. We would definitely stay here again.

Best VRBO hosts! Very responsive, welcoming, courteous and understanding owners. We had a few special requests given that we were traveling with a 3 month old baby and a dog. They prepared for and accommodated every request.House is as described and has the first truly "fully equipped" kitchen I have seen in a rental home. In addition to kitchen equipment, all the basics are there and shared - salt/pepper, oils, coffee, syrups, plastic wraps - all those things that are a bother to buy when you are only in a place for a few days. Every cabinet is tagged with its contents. Even wine (one white/one red) was left for us. Amazing! And so appreciated. The pool was great. And when we found the grill wasn't working, the host immediately arranged for someone to come and solve the problem. There is a lot of space in the house, many floors (and lots of stairs) and access to gym, W/D, several TVs. It's definitely a 5 start VRBO.

We loved our week at this property. The neighborhood is a quiet oasis right on the edge of DC. It was a quick trip into the city center to enjoy all the museums, and the zoo is close as well. The host had thought of everything, right down to a Netflix account for guests only. The pool was clean and relaxing, and our two dogs (and humans) loved the safe fully fenced in yard. The neighborhood is nice for an evening dog walk as well. The entire house is wonderfully appointed and decorated. Staying at this house really made our family vacation a breeze. Thanks for sharing your house with us!

This professionally designed residence was created as our own home, not as a typical short-term rental. Inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright principles, its split-level layout, natural light, and connection to the outdoors create a sense of warmth, flow, and calm.

Guests enjoy a seasonal heated pool, multiple patios, a Peloton-equipped professional gym, generous living spaces, and flexible areas for families, remote work, or longer stays. The pool is open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend.

The kitchen is fully equipped for real cooking with quality cookware and Ninja appliances. Bedrooms feature premium linens, including hypoallergenic bedding options, along with plush towels and organic spa-grade toiletries.

For added security, there are two exterior cameras, one at the front and one at the rear of the property. There are no cameras inside the home.

The result is a peaceful, thoughtfully designed retreat that feels personal, comfortable, and closely connected to Washington, DC.
