Rustic cabin near river with neighboring riverside campground- Beautiful log cabin with 3 bedroom and extra large sleeping loft in Elkins, WV and is the perfect home base for your mountain getaway with hot tub, fire pit, fenced in back yard, covered picnic area & small Koi pond. In walking distance Shavers Fork of the Cheat River for fishing (stocked), swimming, kayaking and floating. Near many recreational areas: Elkins (9m), Mountian Scenic Train (10m), Canaan Valley Resort (28m), Timberline Ski Resort (27m), Black Waterfall State Park (34m) Seneca Rocks (26m) Snowshoe Mountian Resort (58m).

This cabin was great for our family. Lots of room for all of us, and it does have a half bath which was great for all of us getting ready as well. Their communication was great and check in/check out was extremely smooth!

Our family had a wonderful stay. We had plenty of space inside and out...close to the river for fishing, floating and wildlife watching...the kids enjoyed the fire pit, hot tub and the train that went past 2x a day...very clean and a well stocked kitchen...Thank you Rocky for being attentive and friendly...

The cabin was very nice and clean overall. However, we had a few concerns during our stay. The doors did not appear to lock properly, which made us feel uneasy. Additionally, the lights on the lower level remained on at all times, and since we were unsure whether anyone was down there, it was a bit unsettling, especially for our granddaughters.We were also disappointed that the hot tub had a noticeable mildew odor, so we did not use it very much. Another concern was that the front windows were boarded up, which was not shown in the VRBO listing photos. We stayed at this property two years ago and felt that it was not as well maintained this time around.While we enjoyed aspects of our stay, we believe the property would benefit from some updates and better communication regarding its current condition.

All the French doors do lock you have to pull up on Handle and turn knob . The lights in the Basement stays on noone stays in the Basement . The hot tub when hot you beed to take top off for a few mins the smell is due to the top being all while hot . If you had any concerns the numbers are in the Cabin you could have called and ask us .

**Great central location and decks, but a few rustic quirks**We had a nice stay at the cabin! The location is fantastic—it feels central while still being an easy 15-minute drive into downtown Elkins. Our favorite feature was the outdoor space; the upper and lower decks are wonderful for relaxing outside.A few things to note for future guests so expectations are set:* **The Cabin & Grounds:** A couple of the front windows were boarded up during our stay. There is a small pond on the property advertised as a koi pond, though it felt more like a standard backyard pond (we did unfortunately spot a dead koi floating in it). Also, being a true "rustic cabin" in the woods, we did see what looked like a field mouse inside at one point. We didn't reach out to host about it during our stay assuming wildlife are typical for the area.* **Connectivity:** The cabin internet/wifi runs on a DSL connection. The upload and download speeds are slow, so I wouldn't recommend planning to work remotely or conduct any heavy internet tasks while here.* **Security:** We noticed that the exterior doors (other than the main front door) were quite tricky to lock and took some effort to secure.Overall, if you're looking for a quiet, rustic, and great value getaway near Elkins and plan to unplug, the setting and spacious decks make for a pleasant base for exploring/hiking/rafting.

Thank you yes we do get field mice every once in a while . The Koi fish was about 10 years old and had to have passed away a day before you checked in and I am sorry about that . The windows have been ordered but hasn't arrived yet .
