Our stay at The Hidden Secret of Gatlinburg was good. Communication with the owner was excellent. They responded within minutes and provided the information needed to arrive, gain entry, and have a good stay. The views from the condo were excellent off the back porch.The amenities were as described. For the most part the condo was clean and maintained. The condo is located on the bottom floor of the building so there was some noise from the two levels above.The condo had a nice layout with a master bedroom and interior bathroom and another bedroom with a bathroom located in the common hallway.The location is perfect—close enough to downtown Gatlinburg and the Smoky Mountains that we could explore easily, but far enough away that we had total privacy.

Positives:- clean bathrooms with plenty of towels and hot water- beautiful view- TV’s in every room - lots of mirrors - dishsoap, hand soap, and sponge provided - ample pots and pans - seasonal decor was cute (Christmas time) - coffee table was light enough to move around - plenty of dishes - leftover condiments from previous guests came in handy - no filters needed for coffee pot Negatives:- very poor interaction with the host prior to our stay. She accused me of making “too many changes” and denied altering the checkout date even though we checked out a day early anyway. I didn’t care about the refund but she was very short with me. And short when I asked her a question about places to ski in the area. Basically told me to visit the website. I got the impression that the host was an older woman who didn’t much like to be inconvenienced or have to be involved past the bare minimum. - no decent knives at all, no small spoons- when I turned oven on, it was preheating for around 20 minutes when I noticed a smoky smell. Upon that, I opened up the door to oven and clouds of smoke billowed out. I was scared the alarms were going to go off and that the whole complex would have to be evacuated. Had to stand there and fan fire alarm and turn the vent on stove to get rid of the smoke and the smell! I couldn’t use the oven to cook my dinner. - door was not locked upon our arrival. Had to pull handle to get it to lock. - ice bin FULL of melted/refroze block of ice…
