The Space:
“The Artists Retreat” Nestled against a quiet hillside and tucked above the garage, this bright and serene studio loft is the perfect escape for couples, small families, or close friends. With large windows that flood the space with natural light, a queen bed (with a curtain for privacy) futon-style sofa bed, and a charming secret play nook for kids, it’s both cozy and full of character.
South facing views of the historic Elma street – steps away from coffee shops, art and yoga studios, boutiques and more. Enjoy a simple kitchen and fresh coffee, plus a small workspace and Wi-Fi— No TV, just peace and quiet. Surrounded by nature and frequent deer sightings, this is a peaceful retreat just outside the city.

This is a private loft that we have built above our garage, please be mindful of water use with more than 2 people (the hot water is minimal) . It is a studio style, meaning one big room. The kitchen is not fully stocked, just a few basics.

Beautiful downtown spot

A great little downtown spot with walking distance of some amazing bakeries and eateries. Will definitely book again, super clean and friendly host!

Unfortunately we weren’t able to stay here as the check in link we were provided did not work. We were unable to reach the host by text, phone, VRBO messaging or through VRBO agents from 4pm on, the day of check in. We had advised the host when we booked that we would be arriving late, and when the check in link would not work prior to our arrival, we attempted to contact the host several times during our travels to Okotoks. We weren’t contacted by the host until12:45pm the next afternoon.We had no choice but to stay in a hotel the night we arrived, as we could not get access to the rental. The next morning due to a lack of vacancies in the area & no contact from the host, we booked a hotel by noon for the remainder of our stay in Okotoks. When we were finally contacted the next afternoon, we were provided the code and told by the host that we could check in but because we had already booked a hotel for the remainder of our stay and at 12:45pm could not cancel the hotel without a penalty, it was of little compensation for what happened. When it came to issuing our refund we once again had to contact VRBO several times to contact the host regarding the refund. We were told by the host it had to be processed manually and it was finally processed 14 days after being requested.The entire experience was frustrating & having to stay in a hotel versus where we had booked and paid to stay was a huge inconvenience and expense.
