We really enjoyed our time at Villas Casa Loma. Really big bedroom, kichen and living room. Also beautiful big washroom. We loved the pool, well maintained and so relaxing. Close to lovely beaches and restaurants. We could have used a couple of bed covers for our kids, but mostly the Villa just needed a few things updated. Curtains, a few more cups, new towells maybe. Lovely spot though. Thanks :)

Two weeks in paradise

We had a wonderful stay at Villas Casa Loma from January 26 to February 9, 2019. The resort was spectacular with two pools, lush greenery, a huge villa and close to two beaches, great restaurants, a grocery store and more. Igor and Tom were amazing hosts. No request was too much. COSTA RICA IS MISSING YOU! We loved having you both here as guests and trust that your vacation worked out well for you. Somehow, we were either too distracted or you were too busy with all of the distractions of our wonderful little corner of Paradise... We did not have a lot of chances to socialize as we would have liked. One assumes that with 2 tropical pools, excellent shops and restaurants, spectacular beaches and a myriad of fascinating things to see and do in and around our property you were just busy! (Good to know.) Last week we had the annual "Fiesta" in Brasilito, with bull runs, local crafts and food vendors ..Lots of fun! The next week starts the annual Mardi Gras in Flamingo with 'drag' races, a colorful parade with great music. All of this topped off with wonderful food and drinks. The skies have been spectacular here, too, with the full moon a few days ago so big and bright! We are definitely looking forward to seeing you both back here again soon. Lots to see and do!! Restful Stone Villa - Essence of the Mediterranean

What can we say about our most recent trip to Costa Rica? The experience was overall magic! My active family of 4 were in constant need of entertaining things to see and do, so we "discovered" Villa 4 at Villas Casa Loma and spent a very happy holiday there. The setting is rustic - almost Mediterranean in feel. My wife and I occupied a large apartment with a spacious open concept living/dining/kitchen. Lots of windows to bring in the lovely views. The bedroom and bathroom were large and airy, too. This engaging villa also offered plenty of quiet patios and balconies on which to rest and relax or spend quality time with other family members. On approaching the apartment there is a large covered entry with a stone staircase leading up to another covered terrace with wet bar and sunset views. Leading out of both the living room and bedroom were large glass doors opening onto a covered balcony/terrace that leads to yet another open terrace and a staircase leading down to a second apartment that is almost totally built of stone! Well equipped, this apartment has a small kitchen and bathroom, open living and dining room and a modest, but adequate double bedroom. This is where our two teens stayed - (separate, but close enough). Proximity to two huge pools was a big plus for us, as were the many restful gardens. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. They speak mostly Spanish, so it gave us all opportunities to practice our limited Spanish. On the recommendation of our hosts, we enthusiastically signed up for additional Spanish lessons at a Spanish language school located just minutes away from our villa. Very rewarding! Lots of wonderful beaches are close and a spectacular variety of great restaurants, too. 3 golf courses are nearby, along with great sport fishing opportunities.Limitless things to see and do! Thanks, Tom and Igor. - You made our stay a very special one. We have fond memories of the entire experience.

Muchisimas gracias! We're so happy that you all had such good experiences at Villas Casa Loma! As you discovered, there are a vast number of things to see and activities - for every age group - all within minutes of our compound... Whether you come to just relax and unwind or are seeking a more active holiday, the choices are just about limitless. Your choice of renting a car obviously helped you to get around to a lot of interesting sites! Start your day with a delicious cup of Costa Rican coffee followed by an early morning swim in one of our pools or in the gentle Pacific. Take a leisurely stroll on one of the pristine beaches of the area. Hire a boat for a few hours of sailing and/or fishing. Visit the mud baths and volcano, horseback on trails in the jungle and zip line at nearby Rincon de la Vieja. Enjoy the abundant wildlife including the comical howler monkeys, colourful birds & parrots, turtles, deer, foxes, coatimundi, etc. Find a delightful local restaurant - (known locally as a "soda") - for a typical Costa Rican lunch followed by another late afternoon swim in one of our 2 tropical swimming pools. Top off the day with a colourful & spectacular sunset, or meet new friends at a beachside restaurant and enjoy some truly memorable cuisine! Perhaps even a freshly caught red snapper or lobster... The area has so much to offer and we are always happy to help with suggestions, reservations, etc. Come for the fun...Stay for special experiences! PURA VIDA!! Tom and Igor

Flamingo Beach Gem!

Spent 2 weeks at Villas this past March 2015 with family and could not be happier with our decision! The charm of the resort sets it apart from any that we later toured through our daily trips/adventures. The grounds are impeccably maintained by the wonderful hosts - that take it upon themselves to ensure your stay is top notch. The property is nestled on a beautiful hillside that is breathtaking for viewing the countryside/ocean/sunset and local wildlife - while close enough to local shopping (grocery), restaurants and 3 distinct beaches! Or you can stay on site and enjoy the view poolside from what we think was the nicest pool environment around! Many tours are available with direct pickup right from the steps of the property - so never a shortage of things to do in the area - or just sit back and relax what truly is a lush tropical paradise.

We hope that you will be pleasantly surprised at the recent changes we have made to the gardens - mainly clearing out some of the palm tree overgrowth in order to open up the vistas of the ocean, etc. ... Always a labour of love on our side that will hopefully pay off in appreciation from our guests ... The wildlife here is flourishing, as are Lorita - our talking, singing Amazon parrot - and her other parrot friends ! We are doing our level best to safeguard our furry and feathered friends here ... preserving our many hectares of private preserve for future generations, too. Perfect vacation!

It is with great pleasure that we write this review. We are a family of 5 and stayed at this beautiful place during our first ever trip to Costa Rica. This place is the Garden of Eden! The villas are clean and spacious with stunning views of the Ocean and mountains. The location is a perfect place to base your Costa Rica holiday. On the property are two beautiful pools which are a great way to end an active day exploring the stunning countryside. The hosts Igor and Tom are delightful gentlemen who were extremely helpful from the time we made the reservations right to check out. Getting to know them was a highlight of the trip. There is so much of Costa Rica we still need to explore so we look forward to our next visit! We give Villas Casa Loma our highest recommendation. This place is truly paradise!
