The location was perfect for what we needed. It’s a short walk to 30th Avenida for reasonably priced local groceries and about a 10-minute walk to Playa 72. We really appreciated that it’s not in the busy 5th Avenue tourist area but close enough to get to if you want to; it felt much more relaxed and authentic while still being convenient. The space was more than adequate for us, and the nice pool out back was a real bonus. The building itself is quiet and not overly busy, which we loved. The neighborhood felt safe the entire time; kids were often playing on the street, and the few neighbors we met were friendly and pleasant to chat with. There’s also a convenience store about half a block away for quick needs.The owner was very responsive and helpful with a few issues that came up during our stay. Parking is tight and will really only accommodate a small compact SUV at most, so keep that in mind if you’re driving.A couple of small suggestions that would make the place even better:-Stepping stones from the back porch to the pool would be helpful, as it’s a bit annoying tracking dirt through the area each time you go thru the grass area.-Door mats at both the front and back entrances would also help keep dirt from being tracked inside.Overall, it was a comfortable, quiet, and well-located stay. We’d recommend it for anyone looking for a peaceful base in Playa del Carmen away from the main tourist crowds.
