This was an amazing house. It truly made my experience at my son’s graduation at Clemson University that much better. I loved the fact that 3 of the bedrooms have on-suites. The kitchen is spacious and very well stocked with everything you need to make any meal you’d like. The couch is very comfortable and fit the whole family when watching the large screen tv. The way the house was designed and decorated is impeccable. Thank you for sharing your property with us.

We had a very enjoyable stay and would rate this property 4/5 stars. The house is stunning—modern, stylish, yet cozy—and clearly built with care. The owner is proud of the design (often mentioning his wife designed it), but a few lower stairs dip slightly and the back door is extremely hard to open. The biggest disappointment was the hot tub, which wasn’t plugged in on arrival and took 4–6 hours to heat—frustrating, especially with the rainy weather limiting lake use. Communication with the owner was inconsistent: sometimes very responsive, other times we waited hours for replies. The lighting and fan system was confusing, with multiple unlabeled remotes and switches; we never figured out exactly how we turned on the living room fan! The house has a few games and a stocked pantry, which were nice touches. The road behind the house sees fast traffic, and one evening stray dogs—including a large Rottweiler—made outdoor grilling unsafe, forcing us inside. Despite these issues, the home is beautiful, comfortable, and well-equipped. With minor improvements to the hot tub, communication, stairs, door, and labeling, this could easily be a 5-star stay.

Zoka was born from a dream my wife Isabel Marte and I shared — to create an extraordinary retreat where luxury meets nature in perfect harmony. As the architect and interior designer behind Zoka, Isabel poured her heart into every line, every room, and every carefully selected detail. Her vision was clear: to design a modern cabin that preserves the soulful essence of a mountain-lake escape while offering an elevated experience for those who value quality and calm.

My passion lies in hospitality and curating experiences that go beyond just a stay. Together, we brought Zoka to life with intention and purpose — a space inspired by growth (which is what “Zoka” means in Japanese), and rooted in a deep love for design, nature, and meaningful connection.

This isn’t just a vacation home — it’s a space we’ve built with love, and we’re thrilled to open its doors to guests who appreciate tranquility, intentional design, and luxury in the details.

この宿泊施設のオーナーになった理由

After months of searching for the perfect place, we found a hidden gem in Westminster, South Carolina. Tucked near the shores of Lake Hartwell, this peaceful community offers a perfect blend of privacy and convenience. It’s surrounded by natural beauty — waterfalls, forests, hiking trails — and yet close enough to charming towns, golf courses, and lakefront activities.

この宿泊施設の特徴

Zoka is not your typical vacation rental. It’s a bespoke retreat designed with intention and luxury in mind. What sets Zoka apart:
• Architectural Vision: A modern take on a mountain-lake cabin, crafted by a seasoned architect to harmonize with nature.
• Curated Interiors: High-end Italian furniture and appliances, custom lighting, and plush robes provide guests with elevated comfort.
• Spiritual Calm: From sunrise views through floor-to-ceiling windows to evenings around the firepit, every space invites stillness.
• Seamless Indoor-Outdoor Living: Enjoy meals in refined indoor or alfresco dining areas, then soak in the hot tub under the stars.
• Inspired Hospitality: Quiet luxury, thoughtful design, and a sense of timelessness define the Zoka experience.
