This is a real log cabin, made from logs. When I first entered the cabin, I was in awe of the fire burning in the living area, and the furniture all made from wood. Loved the kitchen with its hand made pottery bowls and cups. I was so happy to find coffee beans and a grinder, because I forgot to bring my coffee. The kitchen, although small, had everything one would need to prepare meals. I made dinner on our second night, but should have thought ahead and brought charcoal to barbeque steaks on the weber outside. In the mornings I enjoyed my coffee on the bench out front as I watched the deer passing around the cabin.
We did bring our two small dogs, and was a little worried that they may try and run off to catch a critter, but they were good little girls and stayed with us as we walked around the property and a trail nearby; when necessary we did leash them.
The cabin does have two bedrooms, and a small loft with a bed (A ladder to get to the loft). So there is room should you want to bring children or another couple.
If you are looking for a secluded place to get away from it all, to enjoy the scenery, and just relax then this is the place. Just make sure you bring whatever you will need from the store, because you won't want to leave the place. Wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you to the owners for letting us enjoy your place.
Note: There is a little deli in the historic town, Spring Street Market & Deli, 115 S Pine Street, where we picked up sandwiches, salads, cheesecake, and other goodies for us to enjoy later at the cabin. Highly recommend this place, as I believe everything is homemade.
Had we not had the dogs, we probably would have ventured out around the little town.
