This was our fifth year visiting the area and we all agree this was one of our favorite trips. The location was central to all the Southwest Michigan attractions. The property is both somehow secluded and right near all the action of Union Pier. We really enjoyed the outdoor spaces including the most comfortable fire pit. The kitchen was well-stocked. Like other reviewers have said, you should be very comfortable with whoever you’re staying with as the bathroom provides little privacy. Not a problem for us at all but since it’s not super obvious from the photos, it’s worth a mention. Overall this spot is great looking, comfortable (loved the king bed), private and in the perfect location. Highly recommend.

We were disappointed after reading all the great reviews. My bad for not realizing that there were so many steps around the front of the house and up to the deck to get in and out. We also enjoy some TV time in the evening after being out most of the day, the TV is a small one to watch from the bed. Really, TV's are very inexpensive. Also, no microwave for warming anything and no stock of coffee or creamers which we have always had everywhere we have stayed. Lastly, what is expected at checkout, stripping the bed and starting laundry, sweeping the floor for any pet hair that we were charged over a hundred dollars extra for!! We definitely wouldn't ever stay again, but to each his own.

Perfect Dog Getaway

What a beautiful little spot! We traveled with our two pups for a weekend in the woods and couldn’t be happier with the experience. The mossy trails off the house were perfect for our senior pups to explore and the dunes were a quick drive away for even more trails. Especially loved the gorgeous bathtub and the outdoor shower! Plenty of vegan options nearby, which was a nice surprise. We’ll definitely be back.

Weekend getaway

This was the perfect weekend retreat to a secluded nature tree house. It is beautifully kept and the cottage vibes make it relaxing with the beauty of nature and beaches and towns close by. Definitely want to return here.

Absolutely amazing

Cute, quiet, and private. The perfect little getaway with a ivy covered wall leading to the stunning moss covered yard complete with swings, fire pit and a hammock. Go up the staircase to a large private deck to enter the adorable casa. Well laid out with high ceiling, lots of windows, and gorgeous decor. There is an outdoor shower or a beautiful claw foot tub to choose from. Beds are extremely comfortable. Host was friendly and gave great recommendations about the area. I will be back for sure!

Perfect getaway

This was a great spot for our little family of 4. Felt remote yet right off highway, and super quick drive to an awesome private beach. Kids loved the fire pit, swings, bunk beds, and big tub! Outdoor shower was large and such a nice treat. Communication with owner was a breeze. Definitely recommend!

Perfect vacation stay

Our family of four recently stayed for a short vacation. The house was perfect for us! It was very clean and had everything we needed! We walked the outdoor trails and used the fire pit daily. It was beautiful! Our favorite amenity was the outdoor shower! We can’t wait to come back and would definitely stay at La Casa Tica again!

Magical

My daughter, 5 yr old twin grandsons and myself stayed at this property for 4 nights. We couldn't get over how perfect it was for us. The house literally feels like you're in a treehouse. It's just so peaceful! Elena was wonderful to work with. Home is very clean! The outdoor shower is heavenly, not to mention that pink clawfoot tub complete with epsom salt! You must take your shoes off and walk barefoot on the moss covered trails! They are truly magical! The location was convenient to everywhere we wanted to go, but I must say, the boys enjoyed the property as much if not more than the beach. So thankful for this time with my family and for the memories we made at La Casa Tica! ❤️

Great little corner of the woods!

The place was very nice and clean and had very good amenities! The outside shower and the bathtub was enjoyed. It wasn't as private as other reviews suggested. We could hear the neighbors and someone stopped by for lawn care during our stay. Also can confirm the highway can be heard when outside. But if you turn on a fan and have the windows closed it was very private. Overall a great place to stay and would consider coming again!

Perfect Getaway

My partner and I loved this cozy little spot! Perfectly tucked away for some privacy while only being minutes away from the beach / breweries/ restaurants. Elena was excellent to work with! We will be back!

Clean and cozy cabin.

Great hosts. Very helpful and approachable. The cabin is clean. Great for a couple or a family with young kids. Unique features include a large deck on level with the tree canopy, an outdoor shower, walking paths through the woods the cabin is in, open floor plan in the living area of the cabin. Additional perks are, the cabin is close to the highway for quick in and out. New Buffalo is about 15 minutes away to the south. St. Joseph’s about 25 minutes to the north. Warren Dunes are about 10 minutes away. There’s wine tasting 5 minutes away with several distilleries and breweries within a 20 minute ride. It’s a nice cabin central to a lot of family and adult activities.

Weekend get away.

Property was just as advertised. We were in town for a quick get away and enjoyed everything about this property. If we decide to visit this area again we would definitely stay here.

Cozy House in the Woods

We had a fantastic time! The place was perfect. It was decorated so cute it really made the place so cozy and relaxing. All the amenities we needed. Stayed here to hike the dunes at Warren Dunes State Park and Indiana Dunes State park. It was perfectly located for both. We were also close to amazing small town shops and restaurants. Our host was great. She personally called me to go over everything with the house. That was a really nice touch. There are many times we never hear from the host at all. Everything is done online. For me that makes the trip more relaxing knowing the host is reachable and cares for her guests. Would definitely stay here again.

Best of both worlds!

The property was set back in the woods and very private, yet you were close to quaint restaurants, wineries, & the lake. It was the perfect spot for a quick get-away with my husband & dog. The claw foot bathtub was amazing!

Long weekend trip.

Great location with a private wooded area. Close to the beach, wineries, and restaurants. Our dog loved the trails in back. We had a wonderful trip.

Perfect, peaceful getaway

This is such a wonderful place, and is just as pictured - if not better. The inside is so open and has lots of natural light but it’s private due to the surrounding trees. The historic feel is accented by the owner’s eye for unique art and antique or reclaimed pieces, including the claw foot tub. All the outside space is beautiful but simple, not over manicured. The outside shower can’t be beat. The owner was very responsive and gracious. When I mentioned that I was sensitive to scents and chemicals she accommodated above and beyond. Seriously do not hesitate to rent this space.
