Dear Bernice thank you for your review unfortunately Clearwater Beach is noisy during spring break and you are across the street the most the most famous bar called the shipwreck. The city has enforced all of the noise ordinances and is very strict about no noise from any of the bars after 10:00 p.m. unfortunately there are college kids who screaming holler all night long walking up and down Mandalay avenue during spring break and we have no control over that. So we're sorry that put a damper on your family beach vacation come back after spring break and I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time at the Captain's house Captain AL

We are glad you enjoyed your stay at the Tommy Bahama Island House. Appreciate the comments that the rental was very clean and kind words about Karen and myself. Interesting to note that where one guest made negative comments about the old school sound systems, other's have found it terrific. My opinion, nothing like the old school monster speakers. It s unfortunate that the house was not up to your expectations, and it is an old house and nothing fancy. The listing is very clear this is a remodeled 1925 beach house just third house from the sand with Gulf of Mexico View. It is for guests who want a clean updated classic beach house, steps to the sand for just a night or two, and for about half the price of a newer home. Although your review is only 3 stars it is positive and helpful for future guests who want and old cottage, nothing fancy, half the price of a new home and want to enjoy an AWESOME LOCATION Capt Al

Dear John: You stayed one night in this house and the next day wrote this innacurate review. Amazing that the Guests who stayed in the same house, there the week prior to you had a fantastic time, found the house very clean, and wrote an unsolicited review, while I was away in NJ for a wedding, and you had nothing but bad things to say about the same property. I really don't understand as there are pictures of all the new expensive Tommy Bahama Furniture, updated and expensive Stainless Steel appliances and new wood cabinettes. I know the units are very clean as the housekeeper lives on the property and checks every one prior to check in. You never complained or even called housekeeping if there was an issue. Clearwater is a party town and yes the Shipwreck Bar is across the street as advertised in the listing. Most of our guests love to go over there to shoot pool, play darts or just sit at the bar and enjoy a good local story. This house is not recommended for well heeled travelers ( although we do get them as they want to be beach bums for a few days ) , big shots, or wanna be big shots, perfectionists, picky fussy people or guests who like to write critical reviews. Fun loving, easy going, people who want a great value and wanna be beach bums will enjoy the Salt Life here and great hospitality or the Managers. The reason you were disgusted, I later found out was that it rained when you check in, and rained the next day and the business office clerk would not give you a refund, so you left and lost your deposit. You could have simply called me as I answer my phone 9 to 9 everyday and everywhere and I could have worked out a credit for a sunny day. Hope sunny days are in your future. Capt. Al

Although Shipwreck Bar is rated best Beach Bar in Pineallas County and quite entertaining for adults, I do have other bars that I would recommend for 20 something young guests. Dear Guests: Thank you for your FOUR STAR review. We are glad you found the house to be cozy and conveniently located so you would not have to move the car. You arrived before check in time, Saturday July 4 th week, and the house keepers got if ready for you around 1:00, early check in, Perhaps not a flawless broom sweep, but you got in and straight to the beach, cause when she came back to unload the dishwasher there was no one to answer the door. On the positive side, you never had to wash your dishes because this house has a dishwasher. Beach-sand. There always will be sand on the floor if your coming off the beach, that is why there is a vacuum cleaner and broom in each unit. We are glad your family got to enjoy this classic beach house with convenient location and look forward to your next stay in Clearwater Beach. For future guests , the welcome package suggests you call the housekeeper if any sand blew in or you need any touch up. Dear Dana: It is unfortunate that had frustration with the booking process and felt it necessary to write a negative review. you had booked this property twice on the vrbo site and as explained to you all communication it is computer generated. You did mention you were confused on some of your emails. When vrbo figured out that you had booked it twice you were given a complete refund for the second billing charges. We were never paid twice or you overcharged and I spent considerable time of the phone with VRBO about you double booking and they were clear you had only paid for one booking. During your family stay it looked like everyone was having a good time, I helped your family park 3 cars at no charge to you and you found no fault with the property, cleanliness, staff or any other issues. We apologize for your frustration with the booking service which we have no control over. My lines of communication are always open when guests have any issues. We have no problem with a few one star reviews as we know not everyone will have a five star experience, but we try really hard. to meet our guests expectations and that is why we are named Premier Hosts year after year and have multiple awards for excellent customer service from other booking platforms as well. Dear Joseph: My mama taught me if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all. You have attempted to hurt my business my writing one star and disingenuous review on the internet and this site. What comes around goes around and you should know the Secret: The more positive energy you put out into the Universe the more that will come back to you. and so with negative energy,' You could not really find fault with the house other than your myopic view of the number of electrical outlets. Yes there is not one on every wall like todays houses, however every air conditioner and TV is on a 3 prong updated outlet. You could not find fault with the cleanliness of the house, the new linens and towels, expensive remodeled kitchen, or the beautiful view of the Gulf of Mexico. For future guests who cannot understand why a Premier Partner who has over 500 FIVE STAR review gets a one star review now and and then, well here is the answer We allow all reviews to be posted and don't call VRBO and asked them to remove dishonest reviews This guest stayed one night but called me on the phone 1 hours prior to check in and told me one of the guests had Covid He wanted a full refund and even let me know I was going to get a bad review if I did not. I told him I would refund the cleaning fee and that s all as it was check in time. Interestingly I went by the house checking in other guests and he was standing outside. I asked him if he still wanted to cancel the reservation and I was adamant about no refund. He said everyone was feeling fine and would stay. As far as not worth the money, Dear Joseph, you did in fact pay almost $750 for the one night which is high because the cleaning fee is $250 if you stay one night or one week, as all the linens are professionally cleaned at my specifications in a commercial laundry including the blankets. My staff sanitizes the air with Lysol Disinfectant and opens the doors 1 hour prior to going in. All of the surfaces are sanitized with alcohol, the air conditioner filters cleaned and the fee is worth it. So for one night you paid the cleaning fee, tax rental rate and the VRBO commissions and this is the only 3 bedroom house that will rent for one night on a saturday night during Spring Break. If this was a one star property and poorly maintained you would not have stayed and just left. What you put out into the Universe is that which will come back to you.
