Welcome to Sail Away!
Sail away spending your days at this upscale 2-bedroom condo at Resort Rodanthe!

A spacious queen and twin bunk set room shares a full bath with the unit, while a king en suite provides entrance to the shared oceanfront deck boasting a quality bar top table set for al fresco dining. Both bedrooms provide their own TV for easy viewing.

The kitchen, open to the dining and living areas, features beautifully stained wood cabinetry with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. An expansive breakfast bar is a welcome place to share a cup of coffee, while the adjacent dining area offers a quality wood dining set to delight in tasty family meals. The nearby living room with ocean views will be a pleasant retreat for cozying up with a good book or settling in around the TV after a day of fun in the sun.

Like any beach vacation, excitement will come alive when you take advantage of the outdoor amenities, none too far from your front door. While the beach is an easy walk away, the community pool is also close by (open mid-May to mid-Oct, depending on weather), offering sun and shade, loungers and picnic tables, all for the resort experience that makes your vacation both fun and convenient. Located in the heart of the Tri-Village area, you’re a quick drive from eateries, shops and attractions when you’re ready to venture out.

LINENS: Linens package includes bed linens for each bed, along with 1 bath towel, 1 hand towel, and 1 facecloth for each guest.

Excellent location for beachfront ocean views! The condo is well situated on the oceanfront with nice beach access. It was not crowded and we enjoyed our stay. The host was very friendly and communicative throughout our stay. We greatly appreciated the bonus chairs for the beach!

Beautiful oceanfront condo! This condo is very well appointed, impeccably clean and perfect for a couple or small family. Check in was a breeze and the hosts were gracious. The kitchen had everything you could need to fix meals during your stay. We absolutely loved being able to hear the ocean and watch the waves. We hope to stay again someday!

It was a beautiful place the only thing was somewhat lack of amenities such as toiletries no cleaning supplies and the towels weren’t great really need to bring everything yourself

To help our guests plan, we do note in our listing that we provide an initial starter package of essentials, including a roll of toilet paper per bathroom, a roll of paper towels, trash bags, dish soap, and a few laundry and dishwasher pods, to cover those first nights before a full grocery run. We also take your feedback about the towels seriously. Based on your review, we are partnering with our cleaning team to upgrade the quality of our towel packages moving forward. I could tell from the moment we walked in the door of this condo, we were going to be at home. The way this place was equipped and set up was absolutely perfect. My kids walked in the front door and told me the place was the nicest they’d ever seen and it was already their favorite. We have been coming to the OBX for 18 years, and I have never found a place I’ve liked as much as this one. (And I’ve stayed in some beautiful places!) The host was quick to respond when I communicated with any questions.The view from the Oceanfront side was beautiful, and the view from the Sound Side was great too. I spent more time on these balconies than I did on the beach! The kitchen had everything we needed for preparing and serving meals. We get all of our seafood from Sunrise Seafood Market in Avon, and eat the local seafood when we stay. The master bathroom has a waterfall shower…..never used one before. Now I’ve gotta buy one for the master bathroom for my house! I could go on and on about this place. Bottom line, you should definitely stay here if you want a 5 experience. Many thanks for letting my family and I stay at your condo and make some great memories there!

Our stay at this oceanfront condo was absolutely unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, everything felt seamless—check-in was incredibly easy and stress-free, which set the tone for the entire trip.The views alone make this place special. Each morning, we woke up to breathtaking sunrises over the ocean, with colors that felt almost unreal. In the evenings, we enjoyed equally stunning sunsets over the sound—having both perspectives in one place is such a rare and beautiful experience.The condo itself was comfortable, well-kept, and perfectly situated to take full advantage of the scenery. Whether we were relaxing inside or stepping out onto the balcony, the water was always in view.If you're looking for a peaceful getaway with incredible views and a hassle-free experience, this is the perfect spot. We would absolutely stay here again.

Overall, we had an amazing stay and would absolutely return. The location truly cannot be beat — you can walk right onto the beach, hear the waves from the condo, and you’re close to restaurants, a convenience store,and anything else you may need. The hosts were very responsive and helpful throughout the trip. I had asked ahead of time about beach chairs and initially they said they didn’t have any at the property,but when I checked back in before arrival,they kindly brought some over since they were nearby. That was greatly appreciated since relaxing on the beach was our main goal for Mother’s Day weekend.The condo itself was spacious,had a great fourth-floor view,and matched the listing. A few things could be improved. Not having beach chairs readily available or providing beach towels is inconvenient for travelers. We were also surprised by the limited amount of toilet paper provided for three people. The 5 PM check-in felt late, especially paired with a 10 AM checkout. On checkout morning, someone knocked around 9:30 AM and seemed surprised we were still there, which made us feel rushed even though checkout wasn’t until 10.Despite those issues, we had a wonderful stay overall and would definitely consider booking again.

Thank you so much for the 10/10 review and for highlighting our great location, ocean views, and responsiveness! We were more than happy to drop off those beach chairs to help make your Mother’s Day weekend special. We sincerely apologize for the housecleaner knocking at 9:30 AM. Saturdays and Sundays are massive turnover days on the island, creating a rush for the cleaning crews, but they absolutely should have waited until the 10:00 AM checkout time. We have addressed this with our team to ensure future guests do not feel rushed. To help future travelers plan, we do explicitly publish our 5 PM check-in and 10 AM checkout times in our listing (required to give cleaning crews time to turn over all the rentals on the island). We do also offer early check-in at 2 pm for a modest fee. Because beach gear varies so much by personal preference, we do not standardly provide beach chairs or beach towels (though we do provide all bed linens and bath towels), but there are fantastic beach rental shops nearby for anyone looking to rent gear. Thank you again for staying with us, and we look forward to welcoming you back!

We spent a week in February at Sail Away. There was two of us. This was our first time using Vrbo. We did had a problem with the Vrbo app not working on an android phone to get the door lock code. The owner did a outstanding job to solve a water problem. Because of extremely low temperatures the water pipe froze giving us no water. The owner respond was outstanding. They got a plumber to come out on Super Bowl Sunday who did confirm the pipes were frozen and with freezing temperatures there was not much can be done. The owner then offer to move us to a different unit at their expense that had running water, which we declined. The next day (Monday) they had a plumber come out who was able to thaw the pipe out to provide us with running water. The unit has a great view of the Ocean. It was clean and well decorated. The kitchen is well stock except for a tea kettle and serving dishes. Paper towels, dish cloth, a couple of dishwasher pods and laundry pods were provided. The King and Queen beds were made. The Queen bed is pushed up against the wall requiring the person on the inside crawling over the person. The TV does not have local channels with the major networks. Fortunately, I have a YouTube TV account that I use during the stay. Would I stay again? Just two of us, yes. If four of use not sure because of the layout of the 2nd bedroom where people need to crawl over each other to get in bed.

Thank you, Randall, for the feedback and for being a gracious guest during that historic cold snap with below 0 windchills! Our unit was one of 100s on the island with frozen pipes that weekend. We are glad our local team was able to get your water running quickly despite the massive influx of service calls on an off season Sunday. We are considering a tea kettle and reorganized the kitchen cabinets so our multiple platters are easier to find. We replaced the dated pots, pans, knives and wine glasses when we acquired the unit in June ‘25 and your suggestions helped us fine tune more. Regarding the TV, local channels are available via the Spectrum app on our Rokus as noted in our digital welcome guide sent before check in. In case guests miss this we’ve placed a physical guide next to the TV. For the second bedroom, we added twin bunks, increasing capacity from 4 to 6 guests when we bought the unit to accommodate families. We encourage guests to view our room photos to ensure the room set up works for them. This has been well received by other guests. Finally, we’re sorry the Vrbo app was frustrating! We have automated messages for door codes, welcome guides, check in instructions, etc. We confirmed all messages were sent via VRBO. Regardless, we are always on standby to provide direct text support like we did on Superbowl Sunday for you. We are thrilled you enjoyed the top-floor oceanfront views (a few hundred yards from the ocean) and hope to host you again!

I can’t say enough positive things about our experience at Sail Away. The property is beautifully decorated and very well maintained. It is obvious that the host put lots of time and thought into the details to make this a top notch rental. It was extremely clean with an absolute beautiful view of the ocean and sound. I can’t say one negative thing about our experience staying there. The elevator access was a wonderful addition for my elderly mother who has difficulty climbing stairs. The pool was also very clean and well maintained. This was our first time visiting the Outer Banks & Resort Rodanthe. We will definitely be returning. Thank you for helping make our week away from home memorable!

We had a great week at this property. Stephanie was always timely with responses to any questions we had, and was able to quickly solve any small problem that we encountered. The space itself is great! The view is a wonderful way to start and end your day. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. We loved being able to walk right out onto the beach and the outdoor showers were great to rinse off before we came inside. This was absolutely no fault of the owner, but the elevator was not working the first 2 days of our stay. Stephanie was in close contact with us until it got fixed. If you have a mobility impairment, this is something to consider about this property since it is on the 3rd floor. We are hoping to stay here again next year!
