The A-Frame. Canal front home in Colington Habour

The A-Frame is nestled in Colington Harbour, along a canal that connects to the Albemarle Sound. With a private dock, it is the perfect location for swimming, fishing, boating, or kayaking. We are a scenic 10 minute drive from the Outer Banks beaches and local shopping areas!

Our home is located at the end of a residential street. The space has a queen bed (with a water view!), a twin bed with a trundle, full bath, living room, dining area, and full kitchen. The television is a Roku tv. Behind the home, you will find a private deck and dock for our guests to enjoy.

The downstairs of our home is available to rent as well, so you will share the driveway, backyard, and dock with other guests potentially. The two units are not connected on the inside and have separate private entrances.

An excellent location tucked away from the main hustle and bustle of town, but close enough to easily make a trip to the beach, shops, and other cultural centers. Would come back!

Very clean and nice! No washer or dryer for clothes which would've been preferable. It it was very cozy and clean and was an enjoyable stay!

Pros1. Beautiful view and location. Loved the dock.2. Safe neighborhood3. Kitchen had all the appliances we needed4. Bathroom had lots of helpful items like shampoo, soap etc. And plenty of towels even for a large family5. Having two balconies was niceCons1. Had a problem with ants the entire stay despite keeping food put away2. The grass had not been mowed and was quite overgrown, which made the outdoor space less enjoyable than expected4. The stairs especially going up to the house were not in the best shape, the screen door needed replaced, and the floor was uneven in some places 5. The sofa bed, which we were counting on using, was dated and in rough shape. We were unable to use it after the first night due to it being so uncomfortable and the other two beds were not very comfy either. 6. Shared space-our fault for not realizing this was a double rental before we arrived, and it was not a problem for us. But it could easily be an issue if both parties were wanting to use the fishing dock or the firepit at the same time as the space is pretty limited so just something to be aware of.Overall not an unpleasant experience, being right on the water was beautiful and we had a lot of fun! But I wouldn't stay here again for the price.
