3 Blocks to Beach. 5 Bedrooms, 4 Bathrooms - Family Spaces, Kitchen, & Porches

Our home is a classic beach house located just a short walk (3 blocks, 7 minutes) to the beach and boardwalk (also near the trolley stop). Oakwood Street is a wide, open, and private street. Our lot is large, with open parking (4+ vehicles; grass is ok). Guests enjoy the expansive front screened porch, with plenty of seating, and a large backyard deck. They tell us it feels like a home away from home.

There are five bedrooms:

- Guestroom 1 - Master bedroom - king bed, sitting area/desk, and bathroom
- Guestroom 2 - king bed
- Guestroom 3 - king bed
- Guestroom 4 - bunk bed (queen mattress on bottom, twin on top)
- Guestroom 5 - twin bed and a bunk bed (full mattress on bottom, twin on top)

Note:
The current bedroom images show a queen in one guest room, but that has been upgraded to a king.

The full bunk bed in the photos was moved into the room with the twins and replaced with a bunk bed with a queen on the bottom and a twin on top.

The images also show a room with two twins, but one of the twins was replaced with a bunk bed with a full mattress on the bottom and a twin on top (the bunk bed seen in the photos).

Our house is ideal for a family summer beach vacation or a non-summer getaway. (There are tons of things to do in the "off-season" - e.g., shopping nearby with free parking, restaurants with no wait times, great road cycling right out the front door, etc.).

Our home is conveniently located near the beach and town, yet it still maintains a private and uncrowded atmosphere, making for a wonderfully relaxing vacation.

The home was originally owned by the former mayor of Bethany, who designed and built it in the 1980s. The previous owners remodeled and expanded the home in 2019. Today, it is known as "the cedar house."

The minimum rental age is 27. This is a family home in a family beach town. Please, no senior week requests.

The primary renter must provide full names and ages of occupants within 12 hours of the booking request. Failure to do so may result in the request being denied.

Sheets and towels are not provided, and pets are not allowed.

We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful home. It was spacious and perfectly suited for a large group. We loved the location in Bethany as it is close to everything and yet in a nice quiet neighborhood. The beach, ‘boardwalk’, and library are walkable destinations. Our weather was not great but we found ourselves enjoying the screened in porch as well as the comfy family room. We also hired a chef to cook for us in the well stocked, spacious, beautiful kitchen. The only issue we had is that we had just one working key. Luckily the lock box made it possible for everyone to have access to the key.

Great family house

Oakwood home did not disappoint. Spacious bedrooms, large family room with plenty of room to lounge and play games. Porch was an added bonus where we spent our mornings and dinners in the evening. Would rent again and highly recommend.

Beautiful house with a great location

We were a family of 10 ranging from as young as 18mo to 65 and everyone enjoyed the house! My mother couldn't stop raving about how nice it was and how roomy it was for all of us. The kitchen is well stocked with supplies, there are beach toys and gear in the garage, and plenty of games and books to choose from for the group. The rooms were a very nice size and the location convenient to the main roads. The crossover to the beach is a little tough with young kids but having a parking pass made it a bit easier. We had an issue with the AC being out in the main suite when we arrived Sat night but the management company and the owner handled it as soon as possible and we had air by Monday. Great trip and I'm already looking forward to coming back next year.

Family fun

This property was just what we needed for our family get away. Not to far from the beach but far enough away that it was nice and quite when i sat out on the screened in porch. Pur whole family truly enjoyed our stay.

Spacious & Welcoming

Large, updated and well stocked home that provides everything you need for a week at the beach. We especially liked the gigantic family room with the pocket doors that kept noise levels down and young children's toys out of the way.

Family beach trip

The house was HUGE and recently remodeled, clean and well-stocked. Lots of space for two families with four young kids. The owner was easily reachable via the VRBO app, but would have been nice to be able to reach the property manager quickly by cell phone/text. We would definitely stay here again!

Great house

In an area that is being overrun with huge houses it's harder and harder to find a good house that is still affordable for 2 families but also functional. The amenities on hand were great and the place was very clean.

Bethany Beach Yearly Trip

We truly enjoyed our trip to Bethany this year. The house was close to the beach and town. It was spacious and very comfortable. We were a party of 7, I would recommend the "cedar house" for any family vacation.

Beautiful, well-appointed home!

Multi-generation beach trip and the house met all our needs. It is updated and well equipped. The beach is a .4 mile walk but the resident parking tag allowed us to have one vehicle take all the “stuff” and park very close to beach access. We are an active family that didn’t mind the walk. We had a great week!

Great house, great stay!

We had a great stay at this lovely home! Gail was incredibly easy to communicate with and very responsive. We had an issue with the AC and she sent someone over right away and had it fixed quickly. The home is lovely, and though we wished it was just a tiny bit closer to the beach, the walk was manageable and the distance to the town center was also great. Beautiful and well-stocked home!

3 blocks from the beautiful beach

The house was a perfect layout for our family with bunk beds and twin beds for the children and king or queen for the adults. Plenty of room in the open kitchen-dining table and sitting area with another large room for tv, sitting area and another table. Although it was very warm outside the front porch was an inviting place to sit. The house was wonderfully cooled by central air conditioning. Gail responded quickly to any correspondence both before and during our stay. The entry process was very simple. Definitely recommend this home!

Amazing family beach house!!!

The house itself is beautiful but the best part was all of the different sitting spaces. We had multiple families for vacation and it never felt like we were on top of each other. Gail was very responsive and helpful! Highly recommend !!

Beautiful well-appointed house in Bethany

From the beginning, the house was well appointed and had more than everything we needed to have a wonderful time at the beach - beach chairs, bikes, beach toys. The owner was very responsive and provided very good details about check-in, etc. The only thing I will say is that we were 3 families so it would have been nice to have a bathroom in both of the king bed rooms.
