Cozy Bungalow located 2 blocks from the beach-

Our home is located in the historic East end of the island. This cozy bungalow is within walking distance to the beach, close to many restaurants and bars and lots of great shopping. We are on a corner lot with street parking available as well as a single car garage.

We remodeled this home in 2012 and again in 2019. Every detail of the home has been taken into consideration. We put in a sidewalk and driveway. We resided and painted the exterior. We restored all the sash windows and landscaped the front yard.

My husband and I love to cook. Our home is equipped with lots of cooking utensils, pots and pans and gadgets. There is a charcoal Weber grill for our guests use. Pick a lime from our lime tree for a delicious beverage after a day at the beach.

The home is fully furnished with linens, towels, blankets and pillows, etc. We have provided boogie boards, sand toys, umbrellas for our guests. There are also a couple of beach cruiser bikes that our guests may use. There is a surfer shower located on the lower level that comes in handy after a day on the sandy beaches.
We have tried to think of everything.

Just pack your suit and come for a relaxing time on Galveston island.

Best rental ever! I was a bit reluctant booking last minute but to my surprise it surpassed all my expectations. This rental had everything we needed plus extra goodies. The beach was a short walk with kids and chairs in tow. Host response was quick.Overall a great stay! Thank you Amy!

Great house!

The home has been very nicely remodeled. It had everything we needed plus some! It was very convenient to the seawall, beaches and restaurants. The owners are also very nice and easy to contact.

Beautiful

Love 'The Red House'

Just wish we could have stayed longer. It is so convenient to everything we wanted. Fell in love with ShyCatz just a few blocks away. Breakfast all day! 'nough said. Beds were comfortable and a/c cold. Galveston is our new beach destiny and 'The Red House' is where I will hang my towel.

Historic Home with some original features, clean and close to attractions! Owner informative and responds fast! No back yard but great location. Mattresses need replacing but wasn’t a deal breaker for us. AC works well.

Red House

We enjoyed our stay! The lighting was as our only problem! The lighting situation never worked correctly with the controller. Might be a short in King room not sure half the time the lights did not come on with the switch! Nice convenient walk to beach and enjoyed the breeze from the porch!

Great location!!

We enjoyed our stay at the Red House! We had 2 couples, 2 babies and a 9 year old. We had plenty of space with the 3 bedrooms and open living area. The deck was large and great for relaxing, the breeze there was very nice even on a hot day. We loved having the outdoor shower to rinse off after the beach! There's bikes and a lot of beach equipment in the basement which many would find useful - toys, chairs, umbrellas, kickboards. Plenty of towels were available, and it was nice to know there was a washer and dryer if we needed it! The wifi worked great, as did the AC - we were actually quite chilly the first night. The owners were very helpful and quick to answer any questions we had prior to booking and during our stay. The location of this house is fantastic, only a short walk to the beach and restaurants - with the babies and all of our stuff we opted to drive. There is street parking available along the beach right at the end of the road for a reasonable price. We enjoyed going to this beach, the other beaches further East looked to be much more crowded!

Beautiful home in a great location

Traveling with babies isn't always the easiest task but Amy & Greg's home was perfect not for just 1 family but 2. The bedrooms were spacious enough to comfortably put up a pack and plays for both babies and my older son loved the smaller cozy room in the back. The location was perfect, literally a 2 block walk to the beach and pleasure pier. Everything you needed within walking distance is amazing for a beach trip and the price is unbeatable. Amy was quick to respond to and concerns or inquiries we had and was very understanding and reassuring with all questions. Would definitely stay here again if we get the chance to go back to Galveston!

LOVED Our stay at The Red House

We had such a great time during our stay at The Red House. This house is laid out well, comfortable, the kitchen has all you need, great a/c, wifi, wonderful deck with lights and comfy chairs. It was so nice not having to eat out on vacation (especially with four teenagers). The outdoor shower is a MUST have in Galveston and the one at The Red House has plenty of privacy. There are plenty of towels, beach and bath towels, a washer/dryer and plenty of extra blankets. It's a short walk to the beach, they have skim boards, boogie boards and bicycles (all of which were used daily). The neighborhood was quite and we loved hearing the wind blow through the palm trees that surround the property. We spent a lot of time in the house due to Tropical Storm Bill and the kids were able to have their own space to go hang out. We will definitely be back next year.

Wonderful Experience

We took our toddlers on our first family road trip this past summer, and we were lucky enough to find this gem of a house. We were naturally nervous about how well the girls would sleep having never been away from home, but they instantly felt so comfortable that it was never a concern! My older daughter still periodically asks when we can "borrow our beach house" again =) Even though it was the worst year on record for seaweed (WHOA, it was something), we had a truly amazing experience. The house is so well maintained, so comfortable, and has so many creature comforts--from kitchenware to supplies for the beach. And being able to keep up with our laundry and take clean clothes home--there just aren't words for how wonderful THAT feels! Thank you so much for making our first family vacation such a hit!

Loved it!

This place was perfect for us! We were two teenagers and a married couple. Each kid got their own room. That was nice. There were 3 bikes available, that was nice. There were some beach boards and some sand toys, too. Also, there have plenty of towels in the bathroom. In the largest bedroom, there are beach towels in the dresser. The kitchen had every gadget we needed. There are staples like mayo, ketchup, salt, pepper, etc. in the cabinets and the refrigerator, so check it out before you go shopping. It was great to have wireless. I have rented probably 10 places on VRBO over the past 12 years. This one rates at the top. Owner very easy. Oh, so it is a short walk to the beach. We pretty much went every day. I would recommend this rental.

The beach is 2 blocks away from this home. Captain Jacks, Sky Katz, The Pier Club, The Sunflower, Mosquitos,Gumbo Bar -are all within walking distance. Not all neighborhoods are created equal, but this one is very safe and pleasant.
