The Disco Mermaid Cottage, a short walk into downtown Ocean Springs.

Hi, my name is Nicole, and I am the owner and host of your short-term rental. My family and I have been longtime residents of this area, and Ocean Springs is incredibly special to us. It is the community where all of our children have attended school, and where we worship and spend much of our time in the downtown area.

This is the place we plan to call home forever, and because of that, I am passionate about helping preserve the charm and history of our town. So far, I have invested in two historic homes downtown, with the goal of restoring and protecting these beautiful properties for generations to come. My hope is to continue investing in one historic home each year as a way to contribute to the preservation and future of Ocean Springs.

Downtown Ocean Springs is a truly special place, with a rich history dating back to 1699. The downtown area is a charming, Hallmark-style town filled with majestic oak trees lining the streets and a welcoming coastal atmosphere.

Known for its vibrant art culture, Ocean Springs is centrally located along the Gulf Coast and surrounded by five beautiful barrier islands. From its local shops and restaurants to its natural beauty and strong sense of community, there is so much to love about this town — and we are proud to call it home.

The Disco Mermaid was lovingly owned by the Blankenship family for many years. After the passing of Mrs. Blankenship, the cottage became available for purchase, and I immediately saw an opportunity to restore this sweet little home while honoring its vintage charm.

The detail that spoke to me most was the retro pink bathtub — it instantly inspired the vision for the home. From that moment on, The Disco Mermaid was born, blending nostalgic charm with a fun retro vibe that celebrates the cottage’s unique personality and history.
