UP ON THE ROCKS's position, high up on the rocks, gives it a your incredible Panorama view with great ocean breezes, at a level that ensures your privacy and with the entrance to the National Park and Cruz Bay's restaurants & shopping all nearby, you will love, love, the location. A free-standing villa, UP ON THE ROCKS, alone on the property, it becomes a place that is yours all alone.
COME! ENJOY! Let it be Your island home in paradise.

The open floor plan boasts dining and living areas with large ceiling fans and a full service kitchen with gas range, microwave, fridge, coffeemaker & toaster, new, custom-made cabinets holding an array of pots, pans, dishes, utensils, basic spices and more, to facilitate cooking. Enjoy internet, Wi-Fi, cable, "smart" TV, and a large very private veranda with BBQ & furniture all overlooking your Incredible Panorama view. The 2 master suites, each boast a quiet A/C, 2 ceiling fans, queen-size bed; en-suite bathroom with dual vanity sinks, walk in glass enclosed shower and a safe for valuables storage.
The lower level is the laundry room with full size washer and dryer.

The entire property "UP ON THE ROCKS" is your alone.

We will contact you before your travel to coordinate a meeting upon your arrival. We can help with your rental car if needed Lead you to the house and give you an indoctrination at UP ON THE ROCKS. We are always available should any problem arise during your stay.

UP ON THE ROCKS is Less than a mile from Cruz Bay where you can catch ferries to other islands, enjoy some great restaurants and bars, markets for food and necessities shopping, mail services, nail salons, coffee and cappuccino shop, and more. Other beaches and restaurants on the island are convenient as well, since St. John is only about 13 miles long.

We recommend renting a car for your entire stay on St. John. The island is two-thirds national park. There are 35 beaches, countless trails and vistas to explore. The public transportation being very limited, your visit to paradise will be greatly enhanced with the freedom to explore our beautiful island, that is afforded by having your own car. Public parking is free throughout the island and at sites in the park. In Cruz Bay, free parking and ample pay parking, at a nominal rate, is always available.

Beach chairs, towels, ice chest are included.

Lovely villa, spectacular view

Up on the Rocks is lovely, with comfortable beds, gorgeous bathrooms, a well-equipped kitchen, and nicely-landscaped grounds. The property manager, Henry, was responsive and friendly. Terrific view. The driveway is very steep and takes some getting used to.

Perfect for two couples!

We loved our stay at Up On The Rocks! The house was well-equipped and a great location with a beautiful view. We spent many hours on the porch when we weren’t touring the island! We would stay there again.

This property was perfect for 4 people. The house was clean and well equipped with coolers, ice packs, Turkish beach towels and beach chairs. The AC was great in the bedrooms, but the main living area was very warm, despite the fans being on. We preferred to keep the sliding doors and windows closed in the living area due to the mosquitoes. The driveway is VERY steep. Tip: adjust your side view mirrors and then back in carefully with jeep in 4 wheel drive. The owner, Henry, was very accommodating and easily accessible to answer any questions. We enjoyed our 10 day stay at Up On The Rocks!

Fabulous find!

We loved our stay here. Henry was great. We caught a late ferry and he took care of getting the jeep for us. The house is perfect for 2 friends or 2 couples - 2 comfortable queen beds and 2 bathrooms. The property was clean and close to Cruz Bay. Gorgeous view and quiet neighborhood. This is a totally great place and we are so happy we found it.

Absolutely loved this place!

So relaxing. It is the perfect setup for 2 couples. The view is lovely. Town is very close if you need to run in. I will say the driveway is crazy but we had fun navigating it. Everything we needed in the house was there. Super responsive and answered any questions we had about the island. All in all, a wonderful place to stay.

Great place to relax

Overall nice house! Location allows for quick access to town. It was nice to have my kids on the same level of the house. I have no complaints about this house or stay.

Lovin' Up On The Rocks!

Communication prior to our arrival was fantastic! We knew just what to do and what to expect when we arrived. Henry was gracious and met us at our Jeep rental location and guided us to UP ON THE ROCKS. Upon our arrival, he made sure we knew where everything was and that we were comfortable. He was available for any questions we had. We had an amazing stay and will definitely be back!

Great views and close to Cruz Bay

Our accommodations were exactly as we expected. The tropical breezes on the deck were perfect. Very relaxing. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen and bathrooms were perfect. The location was close to town so shopping, food and groceries were easily accessible. It was very convenient to be close to the car ferry too. Driving to the beaches was very easy. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend it.

“Up on the rocks” was amazing. Great views. Lovely landscape and SUPER clean with everything you need. Great location. Close to the quaint town of Cruz Bay and all of the GORGEOUS North shore beaches. We would come back in a heartbeat.

Just as beautiful as the pictures!

We could not have been happier with our stay. The house was perfect for 2 couples. We started every morning with coffee on the expansive porch, which had comfortable seating for lounging or breakfast. The porch was also perfect for enjoying a beer or drink after a day at the wonderful beaches of St. John. The kitchen was fully applianced and the gas grill availability was great. Our communication with Becki and Henry was great and nothing was left unanswered before or during our stay. The house was spotlessly clean and well equipped (towels, beach chairs, cooler) for a day at the beach. Easy access by car to 2 markets, restaurants, shopping and beaches. Thanks for everything! We will definitely be returning to Up On The Rocks!

Wonderful Time

We had a wonderful time in St. John. This property was a great place to rest our heads at night after a long day in the sun, lying on the beach, swimming, and snorkeling. Comfortable, clean, and it had everything we needed and more!

Great Stay @ Up on the Rocks

We had a great stay at Up on the Rocks! the photos and descriptions are exactly what you expect upon arrival. Henry was a great host & welcomed us to the island. The villa is well equipped with everything you need. It is perfect for 2 couples with lots of space and equal suites.

Excellent house for an enjoyable stay on St. John!!

We LOVED our stay in Up On the Rocks!! It's just a couple minutes from town and a fabulous view of Great Cruz Bay to watch on the huge porch while sipping coffee. Henry was more than accommodating and willing to offer any knowledge or advice about the island. I had read reviews about the steep driveway and was literally scared to death of it but overcame my fears. After the first couple of times, it was a piece of cake. DON'T let the driveway steer you away from this villa seriously. It is a very nicely furnished, adorable home that is just perfect!! You will just love Henry too! If I was forced to say anything other than positive, it would be that we wished there was a bed on the porch for sleeping out there because it was so wonderful out there at night. ;) We did have to use bug spray on the porch a lot, so don't forget that. Thanks again, Henry, for a wonderful stay! We will be seeing you again!

Perfect place to stay

This house was the perfect place to stay for our first trip to St. John. It’s located close to grocery stores and town. The view is amazing, the flowers along the rocks are gorgeous. The kitchen had everything you could need. Plenty of nutmeg for painkillers was already in the fridge. It was nice to find leftover reef safe sunscreen from other guests since we did run out of it during our trip. The AC in the bedrooms worked great. The beds and pillows were so comfortable. The house is beautifully decorated with plenty of outdoor and indoor space. We hope to be back very soon!

Great for 2 couples

This house was very well designed for 2 couples to enjoy! Everything was on one level, though you walk up 1.5 flights of exterior stairs to the front door. There are 2 full master suites with spacious bathrooms, a/c, and comfortable beds, and each bedroom/bathroom area is separated from the main room by another door, so it's very private. The interior shared space is wider than I expected from the pictures, and comfortable for multiple people to be cooking/moving around. We spent all our awake time out on the huge covered deck, where there was always a wonderful breeze. There were also several beach/grocery bags and some leftover reef-safe sunscreen, which was helpful. The house had basic spices and cooking equipment, and the grill worked great. All the windows were wonderful - we woke up to a view of hummingbirds at the flowers behind the house. It all felt very private as well. My only challenge was the driveway, which is very steep, along the rocks, and you need to reverse up it in 4wd. This is especially harrowing when it's dark and raining and you have a full car of people/luggage. I got better at it as the week went by, but it always made me nervous. The price you pay for getting to be Up on the Rocks, I suppose!
