We had wonderful week stay at Irish Hills House. The panoramic views were absolutely amazing and the surroundings so peaceful. It was the perfect getaway. Ryan was a great host and Bourbon, Cider and Walter were a joy! Ryan provided many recommendations for local hiking and restaurants and was available whenever needed.Irish Hills House was very comfortable and had everything we needed to feel at home. Loved this stay. Perfect for a getaway with a beautiful view. and the dogs are so cute!Fair warning, be prepared for a winding drive up the mountain (12-15 mins just to get up or down).

A truly amazing experience! The views are absolutely stunning and unable to put into words. The host is extremely accommodating and someone you immediately feel like you have known for years. Bourbon and Cider are the only thing that make you take your eyes off the endless views. They are the sweetest dogs you will ever meet! What an amazing stay. Ryan was so friendly and welcoming, and it was clear from the start how knowledgeable and thoughtful he is. He has two awesome dogs, Bourbon and Cider -- my teens absolutely fell in love with them!! Let's not forget about the Tortoise 3 Ryan's home is beautiful, comfortable, and perfectly situated with an incredible view of San Luis Obispo — the kind of view you don’t forget. Our only regret is staying one night. Do yourself a favor and book at least two!! We loved every minute and would absolutely stay again. Ryan (aka buddy, lol), thank you so much for an incredible stay full of laughs and memories. I hope our paths cross again someday!

We already miss being at this property! The location is otherworldly. The house is perfect- our family of 4, plus a pup, was so cozy in the well-designed space (and the beds are all crazy comfortable). We liked walking the property, petting Walter, saying hi to the chickens, and cooking dinner in the kitchen with a big window overlooking Morro Bay. The house is a short drive from anything you could want or need, plenty of different coastal and mountain spots, iconic destinations. Ryan is a wonderful person, great host, and our family really enjoyed meeting him. He was welcoming, helpful, and made us feel like old friends. We love Bourbon and Cider!

Of course here’s a polished but still natural-sounding review you can use:⸻We had such a great stay! The views were absolutely beautiful and made the whole experience even better. The place was very easy to find, which made check-in stress free. I especially loved the animals on site. they were such a fun and unique touch. The views are absolutely spectacular! You can see the ocean and the mountains from inside the house and also from beautiful decks and lookout points on the property.Ryan, Bourbon and Cider, our hosts, were super friendly and accommodating. We had a wonderful time on Ryan's property! Perfect location with gorgeous views atop the ridgeline. We could see Morro Bay on one side and SLO on the other.The location was a perfect distance from local hikes (Avila Ridge & Mt Madonna) and downtown SLO where we went to the local farmers market and had dinner out one of the nights. But as much as possible we stayed on the property to enjoy the beautiful views and comfortable accommodations. A return visit is definitely on our mind.

Everything about this property is AMAZING…the views, the location, the comfy beds and well-stocked kitchen, the host, EVERYTHING. Stayed with my two senior pups and had the most peaceful mini vacay ever. Location is perfectly located between SLO and Avila Beach and the drive down the hill is gorgeous in both directions. Can’t wait to return!

Ryan was charming and very attentive. It was our first time staying on a property where the host resided in another home close by. He and the dogs were so welcoming and helpful with ideas of places to go that were pet friendly. Loved the views and our three goldens made new best friends with Cinder and Bourbon. Will definitely come back again!

Immensely relaxing and enchanting. The views were spectacular. It reminded us of Europes hills. Very lush and green. We could see the volcano mountains and the ocean once the fog left. The place was very spacious. The living area was set up like a studio with bed, living and dining in one large room, kitchen separate, with two additional rooms upstairs. There is no AC but wasn’t need in the studio area once we opened windows. There were chickens and Walter the turtle. The drive up was about 20 minutes from SLO and well worth it. We visited the SLO Mission ate at Feral, drove to Morro Bay for whale watching, ate at Avila Beach Mersea’s, sat out on the rentals shared balcony patio and watched stars, went to see Durand Jones at Madonna Inn Expo. The place is attached to another rental and to the owner, but lots of privacy. The owner Ryan and his fur babes Bourbon and Cider were kind and thoughtful hosts.

Ryan is a fantastic host and the property has incredible views of the city and ocean. Would definitely come visit again!

The driving instructions were beyond appreciated. It’s secluded-ish, but so gorgeous. We also brought one more car than we anticipated but the host was able to accommodate, which was great! We were able to see a bit of the scenery despite the rain, but even the cloud bank was spectacular. There was ample space inside and was just ultimately so cozy! (Side comment, we saw a rainbow as we were checking out and it was a beautiful way to end our stay).

Favorite things are our home and friends, especially Bourbon and Cider who are rescued Goldens and the sweetest dogs! We love visiting the local beaches, preparing meals and enjoying the other animals including Walter the Tortoise, Chickens and Koi.

Favorite place is Big Sur, movies at the Sunset Drive-In in SLO, when friends visit and preparing meals with vegetables from the gardens, local farm stands and farmer's markets.

We love to visit off the beaten path places, meet the locals and blend in. Favorite fancy place is Ventana in Big Sur.

We get excited when we get good reviews and positive comments at our VRBO's. We truly love the serenity and views here and are very happy to have the opportunity to share this place with travelers from around the world. We appreciate and do not take for granted that guests chose us, stay with us and like the experience.

We love serving guests, maintaining and improving the vacation rentals every day, helping others create, plan and execute new ideas, planning trips and getaways and purchasing unnecessary products, services and anything else they sell on Amazon Prime.

We are grateful for the gift of life Ryan received on November 2, 2015 when he was given a heart transplant. We enjoy the wonderful people who visit us.

Best all round vacation rental in SLO based on reviews (experience and rating). This is a countryside luxury escape with outstanding views on top of a mountain half way between LA and SF at the gates of the Pacific Highway through Big Sur and 10 minutes from SLO (Whole Foods, Costco, Bevmo, etc. Downtown, Farmer's Markets, Cal Poly, etc.) - Secluded and peaceful, close to SLO, unforgettable views, new luxury everything - Perfect.
