Purgatory Base Condo by Boutique Mountain Stays sits just across from Purgatory Resort’s main lodge, set up for full days outside and easy, comfortable evenings back home.
In the summer, this is an ideal base for riding, hiking, and exploring the San Juans. With the Purgatory Bike Park set to reopen for the 2025 season, you can walk to the lift in just 2–3 minutes and spend the day on the trails without dealing with parking or logistics. Between lift-served riding, alpine activities, and high-country hiking, it’s easy to fill full days without ever getting back in the car.
Summer at Purgatory brings more than just biking. Scenic chairlift rides offer sweeping mountain views, while hiking trails start right from the base area. You’ll also find the alpine slide, mountain coaster, and a variety of base area activities that make this a great setup for both adventure-focused trips and more relaxed mountain stays. Twilight Lake offers a quieter place to unwind with paddleboarding or time by the water, and off-road tours give you access to even more of the surrounding terrain.
If you’re planning a bigger adventure, this also works well as a basecamp for Colorado Trail segments or bikepacking trips, with easy access to high-alpine terrain and long-distance routes.
After a full day outside, come back, drop your gear, and settle in. The space is cozy without feeling crowded, with San Juan mountain views, a wood-burning fireplace, and just enough character from the retro ski touches to make it feel like a true mountain stay.
