We stayed here to visit the surrounding Hiawatha and Pictured Rocks hiking trails (Miner’s Beach and Beaver Basin). The home was located close enough to Munising (15min) for groceries, lunch, and other conveniences, but remote enough to have some forested privacy. It’s located just a few minutes off a dirt road easily accessed by our sedan. It was a clean and comfortable home base after long days. I appreciated that there was a washer and dryer available too. The citronella candles and torches were a convenient touch too, given how many mosquitoes were in the area. That said, we opted out of having a campfire outside due to the bugs. But that’s the UP for you, so come prepared with some deet. The kitchen was decently stocked with basic cook and baking ware. Clean and spacious. I’d bring your own knives, small detail. The bathroom was clean and plenty of towels. We didn’t have phone reception but the WiFI I worked well. Host was also quick to respond to my queries. I’d come here again in the future if I were visiting Painted Rocks.
