I rarely write reviews unless the experience was absolutely amazing or completely terrible. Unfortunately, it's the ladder in this case. The host cancelled our stay just 1 hour before check-in, even after explaining that our family had traveled 9 hours to attend my mother's funeral the next morning. I mean, who cancels on a grieving family? It was a holiday weekend, and it was virtually impossible to find another place to stay on such short notice. We were completely stranded 9 hours away from home. To make matters even worse, the host lied to VRBO about our communication. Thankfully, VRBO reviewed our messages and corrected the situation as best as possible under the circumstances. So, be prepared to have a backup plan if trying to reserve with this host.
