The Space:

Get away from it all in the cozy comforts of Chalet Shangri-La, ideal for a romantic retreat or solo adventure trip! Since your family dogs are as passionate about the great outdoors as you, feel free to bring up to two of them with you. You'll love the woodland finishes and authentic cabin feel of this single-story home. The picture windows flood the space with an abundance of natural light and views of lush greenery. The wood stove in the living area completes the charming picture. You can prepare a home-cooked meal in the kitchenette, complete with a full-size stove and oven, and enjoy it at the table for two. If you prefer to barbecue, there's a private gas grill available and an outdoor picnic table to dine alfresco. Enjoy nearby neighborhood access to Sandy River, or step out onto the private deck and marvel at the twinkling stars.



THINGS TO KNOW

Up to two dogs are welcome for a nightly fee but must be leashed when outside.

4x4 vehicle required in winter.

Rental periods may not exceed 29 days.

Please provide your own firewood and kindling.

Streaming and casting are available using your own accounts.

We did enjoy our stay! It's a very cozy place. They have board games and we enjoyed sitting by the fire reading our books. They have fans for each side of the bed, which was really thoughtful. It's also in a very quiet area.There were a few things we noticed: we thought it wasn't swept well when we arrived. The door lock says to turn right, but you need to turn it left. And the coffee machine was not working during our stay. Overall, we did enjoy our time here and would stay here again.

Amazing Place

Cozy little cabin

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the pictures made it look bigger in the pictures but once we settled in it was perfect. Wood stove really made it warm and nastagic.

Beautiful location with some history

The cabin is in a perfect location for exploration. As a historian I enjoy wandering around the Oregon/Barlow Trail sites. Also I enjoy taking photos so this is the perfect place. Everything in and around the cabin was perfect!

We really enjoyed our two night stay here, so much so we know we’d like to stay here again. The intention was to have a quiet, cozy getaway in the mountains, and just be surrounded by nature. All of those boxes were checked. It actually rained a lot while there, and we loved the sound of rainfall on the metal tile roof. It lulled us to sleep…so peaceful.
Really enjoyed reading the backstory on how the cabin was built.

Great for short stay

Had everything we needed for a weekend stay! Only drawback was lack of washer and dryer for a longer stay but the real treat was that the tap water was not only potable but great tasting and we didn't need anything bottled. Would stay again for a short trip.

The place was clean and the kitchen was well stocked. The room was cozy and comfortable. We loved our stay. The book with the history of the family and construction of the cabin was neat to read. It reminded us of the cabin our grandparents had.

Great local spot

Came in for only one night but had a great time in the area. Place is small but perfectly sized for 1 or 2 and tucked into a quiet side street off the main highway. Good local spots nearby and Mt Hood is maybe 15-20 min drive.

The cabin is beautifully built, not big but very cosy and comfortable. The bed is good. Kitchen well equipped. Bathroom is narrow but everything is clean and functions fine. Lots of notes give directions about everything available. Nature is stunning. Cabin offers privacy and quietness
