For a different lodging experience choose this 1920 stately villa, sited in a majestic garden, above the city of Como with sweping views of the lake and city below.
Our upper level apartment had a huge terrace with a swing and a patio dining set, with a fridge but no TV. Who needs one when you are a few mintes away from a funicular that takes you in a few minutes to the lake, downtown Como?
The villa is 100 years old, with the original decorations, windows and doors, very high ceilings, marble floors and some of fhe original furniture. You will take a set of stone steps up to the funicular exit or another one down to the parking pad in the garden.
Speaking of garden: it's not inlcuded in the booking, so you can't take a blanket outside and sun yourself but it is majestic to behold: a terraced lanscape in the side of the hill with old growth trees and stone steps up and down.
While we were surprised when we entered the property we are happy we chose it for our stay in Como.
