The Space:
Escape to Lenny Ranch, a newly renovated 3-bedroom century farmhouse set on 7 private acres near the southern shore of Hay Bay. The property features waterfront access, more than 60 established fruit and nut trees, nature trails, and a peaceful rural setting right on the cusp of Prince Edward County.
This 3-bedroom farmhouse is surrounded by the kind of landscape that invites you to slow down. Start the morning with coffee on the back deck, or sit down for breakfast by the south-facing windows and watch the cows graze in the neighbouring fields. It is quiet, open, and full of small country moments that are easy to settle into.
The property has been thoughtfully cultivated over the years, with apple, pear, plum, cherry, walnut, and hazelnut trees, along with grapevines, berry bushes, and native trees and shrubs throughout the land. In season, guests can wander between the trees in the orchard looking for ripe fruit, walk the trails down toward the lakefront area, or explore the open lawn and natural pockets of the property. In spring, they may even spot morel mushrooms growing on the land.
Inside, the home has been thoughtfully updated while keeping its farmhouse character intact. Guests will find 3 comfortable bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, two living areas, laundry, and plenty of room to relax after a day by the water or exploring nearby Prince Edward County. They can put on a record, browse the vinyl collection, settle in with one of the classic DVDs, or gather around the fireplace in the cooler months for a slow, cozy evening with family and friends.
Take advantage of the property's many quiet corners, whether that means stretching out with a book beneath the trees, enjoying a leisurely meal outdoors, or simply listening to the sounds of nature from the deck. As evening settles in, guests can gather around the outdoor firepit, watch the sunset over Hay Bay from the property, and enjoy the calm of the countryside beneath a canopy of stars.
Located 10 minutes from the Adolphustown ferry, the farmhouse makes an easy base for day trips to Picton (25 minutes), Bloomfield (35 minutes), Wellington (40 minutes), Sandbanks Provincial Park (40 minutes), local wineries, breweries, cideries, restaurants, farm stands, and beaches. Before booking, please note that this is a rural farmhouse set on 7 acres, surrounded by orchards, trails, fields, waterfront, and the natural beauty of the countryside. Part of the charm of staying here is being close to nature, which also means guests may encounter the normal realities of country living, including bugs, mosquitoes, wildlife, changing weather, and natural outdoor terrain. The home is carefully cleaned and maintained before each stay, but nature is very much part of the experience.
We recommend bringing bug spray, sunscreen, outdoor footwear, and beach or picnic towels if you plan to spend time outside. The waterfront is a lovely spot for morning coffee, a picnic, or simply relaxing by the water. The owners do swim here, but it is a natural shoreline rather than a groomed swimming beach, so guests who choose to swim should use their own judgement and be comfortable with natural lake conditions.
The property uses well water and a septic system, so we kindly ask guests to be mindful of water use. Please do not flush anything other than toilet paper, and do not pour oils, grease, food scraps, or other food waste down the drains, as this can affect the septic system.
For guests looking for a classic beach day, Prince Edward County and several beautiful beaches are just a short drive away. This property is best suited to guests who appreciate nature, privacy, rural charm, and the occasional reminder that they are staying in the countryside.
