If you are looking to polish up on your handyman skills, this is a great place to stay. I highly suggest you request to see a mold inspection report dated after October 10, 2020. Tahoe Getaways gave it the old college try to fix the problems with a positively passive aggressive attitude from personal interactions to emails—and it was enough for us to pack up after 6 days of a 13 day stay and pay for a new place.
Upon arrival, we found strange odors coming from the bathroom and laundry room. The owners were kind enough to leave a letter on the kitchen cabinets (to the cleaners) explaining that there was a leak—and to keep the water turned off. The drain in the bottom bathroom was broken. The faucet in the upstairs bathroom was broken. Multiple outlets/extensions cords didn’t work. The two fans we tried to plug in were broken. The trash in the bear box was beyond full. There are pictures of the owners and mid-sized bear statues everywhere—the decor is a constant reminder that this isn’t your home, it’s someone else’s. The owners storage is in every nook and cranny of the bedrooms, such as dirty used shoes, extra mattresses, printers, desks, play pens. The bottom bathroom smells reeks of a wafty moldy smell at least 50% of the day. The bear box/trash was so full we could not fit anything in it. The best part of this place is the outside decks, and I genuinely mean that.
After explaining to TG the problems we were experiencing they sent out their operations manager. He walked in—and his absolute indifference to the situation was palpable. He left after about 20 mins, and took our trash. The next day I received an email from TG stating: “glad we could send our team by to tighten a few knobs which seemed to have loosen over time, and pull some trash for you even though the trash company was scheduled to have cleared it in 2 days from the outdoor enclosure.” The drain broke again and they came and just removed it. A family of 5 cannot sit inside with their trash for 5 days. From cobwebs in the paneling to dusty musty nooks and crannies, my advice is to book something else, you won’t regret it. Once you book, you can’t cancel—but you can get your taxes back. I have plenty of photos/videos to prove this.
