Madonna delle Macchie private villa and pool - La Polverosa near Orvieto

A two storey building with inside staircase. On the ground floor one large living room with a fireplace (80 sqm), a twin bedded room, a bath-room, a former wine-cellar and a kitchen also with a fireplace. On the first floor two twin bedded rooms, two double rooms (all with its own bath).The garden which overlooks the valley affords a nice view of the picturesque villages of Sermugnano.

Madonna delle Macchie is surrounded by a garden and has it’s own swimming-pool (10x5 meter) with a wonderful panoramic view, the barbecue and the wood fired oven.
The country-house has been recently restored preserving original materials, design and structures. It is furnished with old country furniture: Equipped with independent heating, hot running water, washing machine, the kitchen is equipped with kitchenware, gas cooker, oven, refrigerator, dishes machine towels, Sheets and blankets which will be changed once a week.

Beautiful property about 20 minutes from Orvieto

The owner Patrizia was very gracious and allowed us to check in earlier. I booked it over Christmas and the house was beautifully decorated. The huge plus is that there is a bedroom on the main floor which is convenient if you have older people in your group. There is plenty of space. The kitchen is very functional and has a giant fireplace you can cook in. The only problem we had was with the fireplace in the living room which creates a lot of smoke. No other complaints. The house is spacious and comfortable.

Week-end entre amis au cœur d'une magnifique campagne

Maison de campagne aux nombreux charmes. Idéale entre amis. Une large salle de vie hyper stylée complétée d'une très belle cave. Enfin, une piscine vient apporter la touche finale.

Stort hus med plads til storfamilien. Autentisk Italiensk stemning. Helt privat. Fantastisk udsigt til vinmarker med bjerge og bakker i baggrunden. Alle værelser med eget bad og toilet. Smagfuldt indrettet. Stort køkken med gode muligheder for at lave mad. Stor og helt privat pool som renses dagligt. Overdækket terrasse perfekt til de varme eftermiddage. Gode indkøbsmuligheder ca 15 min. kørsel væk.

Wunderschöner Aufenthalt mitten in Umbrien

Bei diesem Objekt handelt es sich um ein typisch umbrisches Landhaus aus Stein, mit alten, schönen Möbeln, einem großen Gasherd, einer schattigen Terrasse mit Baldachin, einem großen Pool - und einem herrlichen Ausblick über die Hügel des Tals. Die Ausstattung ist einfach, aber funktional - wenn etwas fehlt, reagieren die Mitarbeiter der Agentur und die Vermieterin persönlich sehr schnell. Alles war sehr sauber. Der kleine Ort Teverina bietet mit 2 Supermärkten und einigen sehr guten Restaurants alles, was man/frau so für den Landurlaub braucht. Ansonsten: Kultur-Ausflüge nach Orvieto oder natürlich längere nach Rom etc. sind mehr als lohnenswert.

Beautiful and serene spot for a family holiday

This immaculate property is nestled into a hillside, looking out over a peaceful valley, with gorgeous views from every bedroom. The kitchen is well equipped, with a dishwasher, six burner gas stove, and large refrigerator--all of which you will need to reap the benefit of the wonderful pasta, produce, and cheese in the surrounding area. The comfortable pool is a short walk down the driveway, well situated to catch the sun for much of the day. WiFi is strong in the main living room and spotty in the rest of the house. Orvieto is about 25 minutes away, Civita less than 15, and the nearby town with a well stocked market less than 10. One note: Be aware that it is inadvisable to use more than one major appliance (stove, dishwasher, washing machine) at the same time--we had a couple of power outages before we discovered this. Also note that while each of the 5 bedrooms has its own bathroom, in 3 of the BR the bathroom is accessed up a flight of stairs, which would be a challenge for anyone with mobility issues. Overall, we loved our stay and would wholeheartedly recommend this villa to others.

Unser Traum-Haus!

Seit über 10 Jahren machen wir regelmäßig Urlaub in Italien und diese Gegend zu erkunden war absolut grandios! Die Lage des Hauses mitten in der Natur, und doch in der Nähe von allem, was wir entdecken wollten, Orvieto, Bagnoregio, Lago di Bolsena, ist ideal. Wir sind im Haupthaus der Besitzer angekommen und wurden sofort von Frau Marchei verwöhnt. Michael, der Verwalter brachte uns dann zu unserem Traumhaus, dass aussah, als hatte es auf uns gewartet! Schon das Eingangstor und die lange Allee am Schwimmbad vorbei ist ein Traum. Die Kinder hätten sich am liebsten in’s Wasser gestürzt, aber so warm war es dann doch nicht… (März!) Eine Küche, wie für eine Großfamilie, wo das gemeinsame Kochen richtig Spass gemacht hat. Das Wohnzimmer, wie in einem alten Schloß, nur gemütlicher. Wie haben es sehr genossen, am Abend vor dem offenen Kamin zu sitzen und zu plaudern! Rundherum grün, grün, grün und eine tolle Aussicht. Wir haben das schöne Wetter ausgenutzt, draussen gegrillt, gesonnt und die Würste und Kottletts vom Metzger des nächsten Ortes gegessen. Castiglione in Teverina, Metzger "Morelli", Piazza Maggiore, nur zu empfehlen! (Grazie per i buoni consigli, Sig.ra Marchei!) Ein Zimmer ist schöner eingerichtet, als das andere. Ich liebe das mit den antiken Modebüsten, unsere Freunde fanden das Prinzen-Zimmer toll. Nie in so einem kolossalem Bett geschlafen! Wir bedanken uns für die Gastfreundschaft, in dieses Haus würden wir sofort einziehen!

We found our dream’s house!!!

We did a trip in Italy to find a Villa to spend our summer holidays and we found the dream’s house! Madonna delle Macchie is beautiful and very spacious, 5 double bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, one of the rooms is so big that looks like a suite with its own lounge. We will be 5 couples and we are looking for comfort, space and privacy. We cannot wait to cook in the fantastic kitchen, with the outside porch and breath-taking views. Not only we will enjoy the spacious living room but the Villa has also a nice basement which I bet will be very cool in the summer and the ideal place to taste local wines. We are fond to dive into the swimming pool!!! Patrizia and her helpers are very nice people, always kind and available. We wanted to write this review as we wish other people can enjoys this little paradise corner and we have already booked our 2 weeks! Lavi

Lovely house but not entirely what we expected

The farmhouse has a lot of charm and is decorated with an eye for detail, which we enjoyed a lot. The house is also very spacious. The region is nice and has a lot to offer. However, it was not entirely what we (two families with young children) expected. First of all, the pool is very nice but is not adjacent to the house and its terrace. You have to go down the driveway for about 200 m before you reach the pool, which is not in direct eyesight of the house. We would have appreciated if this detail would have been mentioned in the add because it is not entirely clear from the pictures. Secondly, the house has no shutters, so the light comes in quite early and during the day it's hard to keep the house cool (no aircon, which is correctly mentioned by the owners in the add). But we have to add that we stayed there during an exceptionally warm period in August, so maybe it's better when the temperature is more normal. Thirdly, we regretted that there is no view on the beautiful valley from the terrace or the garden since a few high bushes and trees are blocking the view (of the sunset for example). In sum, we enjoyed our stay, but would not recommend the villa for families with young children.

Excellent, Private but Central house

We have been in Madonna for 2 weeks the last 2 years. This big old stone house is perfect for both adults and families with small children. Calm, relaxing, well equiped with sun in the pool area before 0900 in the morning. Each morning, the private pool was cleaned before 0800. I strongly recomend this place for a relaxing holiday. ..I will also recomend a beautiful restaurant that are located close to the railway station. The name is Osteria del Grillo and they have beautiful food and service. Reidar Meinstad, Norway
