By far, the most expensive part of our renovation, this step-free suite is on the ground floor and just 5 steps from the parking lot, USS Utopia measures 475sqft. Constructed with authentic brass lighting fixtures & windows throughout, this suite occupies 4 pocket doors (including a kitchenette with Keurig, fridge/freezer and kettle), a huge walk-in closet and a separate porthole'd shower and WC. A black walnut counter and chairs is ideal for desk work while a 4 poster bed is graced with the ultimate in custom luxury to include a Serta Hotel mattress, cotton bedding and memory foam pillows with access to a wall mounted swivel TV. Seasonal radiant floor heat and mini-splits maintain optimal year round temperatures while this living space is ideal for those who work nights since the portholes let in less light. Since this is on the 1st floor, the full kitchen is up one flight of interior stairs. Guests also have use of communal laundry, full gourmet kitchen, ice maker, gas stove, microwave, dining-room, living room, vacuum & Swiffer.

Utopia

We stayed in the USS Utopia and it was incredible. The attention to detail and artistry that went into this property were impeccable. The pool, hot tub, and location were perfect. We were a short drive to downtown Asheville, but still felt like we were in the woods. I stayed the weekend with a friend of mine, but really want to bring my husband back. Would rebook again and again!

Wonderful, relaxing experience

The room was very clean and had everything we needed, right down to the body wash and shampoo! The hot tub was amazing! The host was quick to respond to any messages. Highly recommend!

Unique and comfortable

We had the perfect visit. Our boat themed room provided such entertainment! The time and care that went into creating the space was so intentional. We loved all the details. It was beyond clean and spacious too! The kitchen nook was perfect to eat a light breakfast. There was also a full kitchen available to use. The hosts were very cool people. We enjoyed talking with them and getting to know their story. It l the space was in the woods but a short 10 minute ride into town. Best of both worlds!!!

A very unique stay at this wonderful VRBO. Each room is themed and very spacious. Tons of privacy inside and a beautiful countryside setting outside. Lot of amenities for your convenience. Full kitchen upstairs for cooking, washer and dryer, game/sitting loft. Pool and hot tub out back with some of the rooms having views of the deck/pool area. I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting a special weekend away with great memories to take home.

Amazing detail

This was an amazing room! So much attention to detail! The room is much larger than anticipated with a very large closet, decent sized kitchenette, in-room shower and toilet room in separate, private spaces. It was just the romantic hide away we were looking for. The hosts were very attentive and responsive and anticipated our very need.

Our stay was amazing, this is a fun, clean, and Centrally located place to stay. We where able to do everything we wanted, Biltmore, Chimney Rock, Hiking, and Shopping. All very close and look forward to staying again and check out another fun room and explore some more around the area.

Peaceful, unique, amazing retreat!!

I cannot begin to describe this amazing place. "Utopia" is such a fitting name for this property. Here, you will leave all your stresses and worries behind, and escape into a new world. We stayed in the USS Utopia room (ship themed) and we were immediately immersed by the magic of this property. The room was decorated to perfection, extremely clean, and the bed was so so comfortable. I want to thank the owners of this place for giving my spouse and I the opportunity to experience Utopia, we will definitely be back!!

We enjoyed the themed room, there was quite a lot of detail and hard work put into the room and house. We loved how close it was to downtown, lime 8-10 mins tops to anywhere we wanted to go. The room was immaculate as could be. We would totally stay again and again.

Very nice place to spend an Anniversary!

Very clean, very nice. Only got to stay one night and was bummed we couldn’t stay longer. Furnishings were very accommodating and comfortable. Also loved having a private deck. Great experience for us and we will definitely be back! I would love to try all the rooms out!

Amazing!

My partner and I were very impressed with our stay here. The room was incredibly clean as was the entire building. We loved the attention to detail, I felt like I found a new piece of art work every day we were there. The location is perfect for people who like to be close enough to the city but like to retreat somewhere quiet. The staff was incredibly friendly and we were excited to find out of two additional rooms that are a work in progress. We fully plan on making this our go-to spot to stay in Asheville. Our only complaint was the early check-out time (10 AM) normally we would extend it but thought the additional price to extend check-out was excessive. Even with this it does not change how happy I was with our stay here, we are already talking about coming back with friends and we can't wait to see the new rooms!

Just what the Dom ordered!!!

True-to-theme, The Master was everything a couple with a penchant for spice might hope for from a getaway stay. Highlights were the bed, the cage, the shower, the kinky curio, the artwork, and the general ambiance of the property. All very in-character. From a practical standpoint, with no hyperbolic crap, Fay's property is incredibly detailed, an immaculate relief to the germophobe, and an enabling environment for the subversive savant in you.

Beautiful and quiet spot nestled right outside of the city. Perfect for a romantic getaway!

We could not have picked a better place than Utopia for our 10 year anniversary!! So much excitement leading up to our stay between the unique check in process to the anticipation of getting to see this one of a kind place in person! The owners have thought of everything, from the decor to the amenities nothing was lacking. The location of this peaceful property is far enough away from the hustle and bustle to feel remote but close enough to take advantage of a 5 minute Uber ride to town. The Master suite was nothing short of romantic and comfortable. Mark and Fay have a true passion for art and the service industry and it shows throughout. My husband and I left Utopia feeling inspired, grateful and truly relaxed. All I can really say is if you're thinking of booking this vacation spot, you will not be disappointed!

Fantastic Place to Stay!

I can't say enough good things about this place! It was a great location--just outside of downtown, but located in a peaceful mountain area. The entire place was very clean and the suite is huge (the balcony was a plus to enjoy the mornings). We definitely want to try all of the suites. Thanks Fay and Marc for being such great hosts!

HUGE room, private, comfortable

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying in the Master for 4 days. It was great! We loved the theme of it and thoroughly enjoyed it. We were surprised by how large the space was. The room was incredibly clean & private. We loved the balcony & the 4/20 deck. The only thing I'd change about the room is adding more curtains so there's the option to block out more light for those who want to sleep in. The natural light is fantastic though. Very comfortable room and bed. We will definitely return. Thank you for having us.

Showcasing the beauty of Asheville

From the very beginning, the owners showed the high level care and attentiveness for their property! Fay and Marc are fantastic owners of this unit! The entire Utopia property was well maintained, the room well appointed and experience remarkable. The Master is 2 minutes from the downtown sights, and 20 minutes from the Sierra Nevada brewery (we went twice-best brewery of Asheville). My husband and I will definitely be returning and we are thankful for the hospitality!

The property has a very unique set up and decorated wonderfully for adventurous mood setting

The themed decor was very nicely done which made this a unique and exciting place to stay while visiting Asheville. The Master room was very spacious and we enjoyed having our own porch and bathroom with a shower and tub.

Everything was perfect!! A fantasy realized.

Utopia was purchased in 2015 and over the course of 5yrs, we completely gutted and renovated 5,000sqft into 6 guest accommodations at a cost of $2M. Having renovated before, we wanted to offer guests a unique luxurious experience they wouldn't find elsewhere; The original ground floor included the Steampunk Suite, the Steel Suite and the Brickhouse Suite, the Loft is on the 3rd floor and The Factory and USS Utopia are on the lower ground floor.

Utopia is located about 2m from Downtown in a hidden cove! Teaming with unusual wildlife, this unique forest is blessed with a farm and a beautiful pond at the north end of Chunns Cove. To the left of the pond is Vance Gap - a winding unpaved road sparsely littered with high end estates with lofty views. This miniature ecosystem boasts a stream that graces the west side estates with watering and swimming holes for wild bears, turkeys, deer, coyotes, bobcats, groundhogs, hares and rabbits.
We designed Utopia with unique Spacious Suites to include a variety of luxuries; Radiant Floor Heat, Mini-splits, Dimmable Lighting, Memory Foam Mattresses & Pillows, Keurig Machine, Ice Maker, Kettle, Selection of Coffees & Teas and a daily serviced Hot-Tub and a Seasonal Private Pool.
