Come relax in this cozy cottage in the historic Chunns Cove community, conveniently located only 3 miles from downtown Asheville. The perfect size for an individual or couple, this retreat offers a uniquely decorated and well appointed interior, with the feel of an English country cottage on the exterior. Queen size bed with plush bedding, comfy chaise lounge in the sunny reading nook, and kitchenette that doubles as flex work space with bar stools.

Please read before booking!
The bathroom has a shower and toilet, however the only sink is located in the kitchen. Also being as this space was built when folks were a bit smaller, please note the shower measures 77” high (6ft 5”) but the shower threshold measures just 65” (5ft 5”) high, so some folks will need to duck under to enter! See bathroom section for more details.

There are 2 Adirondack chairs in the yard with a fire pit for your enjoyment. Please supply your own wood and make sure fires are completely extinguished.

The driveway is paved and is a shared circular parking area. Some guests with large trucks or SUVs have noted it can be difficult to maneuver, so just keep that in mind if you drive a larger vehicle. Mid size SUVs do not seem to have issues (host drives a Trailblazer and have no problems).

It was such a cute little cottage with a powerful little window unit! The dehumidifier was a LIFESAVER and it was super quiet and cozy for my husband and me. We were told by the folks in the main house there’s a family of bears, but we didn’t see them until we were actively leaving. It felt so remote but it was also so convenient to roads and the city. Be sure to visit the Arboretum! It’s cozy and beautiful even in the dead of summer!

Extremely clean, very beautiful atmosphere, safe, feeling compared to staying in a hotel! Bathroom is extremely small but was adequate for my needs. I have a lot of expensive equipment on my work truck and felt extremely safe there!! if ever working in that area, I will be contacting to hopefully stay there again

We really enjoyed our stay! The cottage was exceptionally clean, had everything needed and was very cozy. The host was very prompt with responses and it was easy to check in. I would recommend future guests to bring a car not a truck. There is a narrow, hair pin turn driveway that we had some difficulty with, otherwise everything was amazing!!!

this was honestly the perfect little cottage for me and my partner! awesome location, close to downtown but secluded enough for time away! really clean and had everything we needed! will most definitely be back to enjoy more of Asheville! The hosts are the best!

Very well designed and cozy indoors. Could use some spider spray on the interior. Loved being greeted with two baby deer and turkeys in the early am! As i see the shower height was mentioned however nobody has brought attention to the knee space while using the toilet. Just want to warn anyone over 6ft tall. Would definitely return!

This little cottage is in a perfect place in Asheville. It’s about five minutes away from the city center but feels like your very remote.The house was very clean and the host was open to contact and very friendly. I would gladly stay again

Beautiful backyard experience. It was so nice to be in the woods five minutes from the town. I really love the rustic industrial vibes. And it was very quiet and secluded.

The location was absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. There are amazing restaurants in Asheville and the hosts list was very helpful, I tried some delicious food while there! A great place to stay if you’re looking for somewhere to relax.

Everything was wonderful! My partner and I had the best most relaxing trip ever and we were so sad to leave. The space was so cozy and clean and we enjoyed the fire pit. I do wish there was a hot plate to cook on, but other than that it was perfect!

My husband and I really needed a weekend to ourselves so he booked the cottage. The location was great. Literally 5 minutes from the grocery store. Biltmore Estates was just 4 miles away. We didn't communicate with the host because we didn't need to do so. The cottage was clean. The listing says parking was available for 2 vehicles. We only needed to park 1 vehicle. If we did have a second car to park, it would have been tight or one car would have to park further away. We saw a black bear for the first time. It was scary and exciting at the same time. We only saw it once, but we were hoping to see it again. Lol We actually didn't do much in Asheville because it was a short weekend trip and my husband decided to take me to Pigeon Forge on Saturday. Pigeon Forge is only about 2 hours away. Overall, the cottage was what we need for that weekend.

Quiet, beautiful setting

My stay was effortless and enjoyable. I was visiting the area for a couple of nights and it was perfect for me...close to town, clean and within my budget. Highly recommend.

Hi! We are Austin and Sarah, your hosts. We are partners in both business and life, together operating Altitude Real Estate Group, a brokerage based in Asheville NC and serving all of WNC! Austin grew up right here in Asheville, and Sarah has been here since 2011. We are an adventurous couple, enjoying travel, scuba diving, working on projects together, hanging out with our cat, and going to the movies as much as possible. Austin has been a host for a few years with his own property in Asheville, and we are excited to get started hosting together! Welcome to Asheville!

We love the Iron & Ivy cottage because it gives visitors the best of both worlds. You're in the country side, yet only minutes from downtown and all the incredible food, music, and shopping it offers. Chunns Cove, the location of the cottage, is a very unique part of Asheville. It has a lot of history, and you can feel it as you drive past the horse pastures and homes with true character.

The owners of the cottage have decorated it in a unique way that mixes a sort of "steam punk" feel with old world luxury. You'll notice old iron gears on the mantle, a light fixure made of an old torpedo, and a collection of old shell casings and bank notes within the glass table in the corner!
