Needless to say I find this review surprising but it seems I get one review like this a year. So I'd love the chance to retort. We just put 100k into this property in the last year. New carpeting, sanded and refinished flooring, redid most of the countertops, new murals, new couch upstairs, new basketball hoop, new pool liner, new pool deck, regrouted everything, brand new grill, everything works, everything is super clean, yes the house is 21 years old but we work super hard on this place. I think this spring alone we had 500 hours into redoing the landscaping, driveway, gravel, bark, lawn, the list goes on and on. I mean it's OK, I understand, because so many others have left us a million great reviews and I think what happened here is people see these modern, cold, stark, white, minimalist houses on VRBO commercials and think this is what every home is but this chalet is rustic, it's cabin centric, it has tons of windows and lots of light but it's painted and decorated in a sort of hunters lodge or maybe even cigar bar or speakeasy vibe. That's just my style. I mean the pictures are there for everyone to see and the house looks exactly like the pictures so I'm not sure why someone would check in and be surprised by anything? We had 10/10s come in just before and just after so yes, this guest has a personal preference for what she likes, which is fine, but this place has never looked better IMHO. The person staying there now describes it as "stunning". I agree!

Hello, Thank you for your review. Regarding the bathroom, the property is listed as a four bedroom, three bath even though its a four bedroom 3 1/2 bath.. Yes there is a fourth half bathroom which isn't in the listing for full transparency and the bathroom does work but we just ask people to only use it in the case of emergency because it is a tricky pump toilet and people have broken it in the past. It doesn't do well with solids or toilet paper but that said the toilet WAS working for your stay all we asked is for you to be careful with it. After your stay we did go through every electrical system and everything was working fine. We believe that you may have had way too many things plugged into one circuit. We haven't had this problem before or since. Perhaps 8 phones all plugged into every outlet plus a heater may have done that? Our listing points out that one bedroom is a loft bedroom but all rooms are visually private. Chalets and cabins with tall ceilings often have a different layout from a house shaped like a box. But to be clear three bedrooms are private and have doors and visual and sound privacy, one bedroom, yes, is a loft. I could spend a small amount of money to close off the loft but that would hurt the charm of the place. It's also upstairs and has a locking door. So yes, if you go to bed early super early or wake up super late, that would not be the bedroom to pick. The most disappointing thing however was that you did leave the home in quite a mess. The cleaner had to clean for 6 hours after your stay. You also stayed during the awful storm that we had in December. It was a tough time for everyone but we did our absolute best to have the place and property perfect for you. I do appreciate the kind things you've said though and as they say, if all you have is five star reviews people start to think the place isn't even real. So thanks?
